Hi there,

I'm sorry about this. This is probably the the third time I've asked but I really need some advise on which one.

I've managed to narrow it down to the three. I'm not particularly tech savvy but I've been told you don't really need an overly fancy motherboard. That is probably wrong. I'm looking for a mobo that will be long lasting, in that I won't have to upgrade it any time soon. I'm mainly using for gaming and editing purposes and hope to achieve ultra settings with consistent 1080p resolution.

What I have accumulated so far.

I5 6600K
Sapphire R9 280X Vaper X
G Skill Trident Z 16gb DDR4
Cooler Master Hyper 212x
Western Digital Blue 1TB

I'm looking into buying an m2 ssd card soon.

I'm looking to spend about £150ish max, however I will increase the budget if you think it will be worth it in the long run. I don't mind spending more if it will be better and will last longer. Please be nice and if it's not too much trouble, explain why that particular motherboard.

I was wondering about Fatality K6+ and the Asus z170 gaming pro.

These are three I've narrowed it down too.

Is there any particular reason/ feature that you need a top end monthernoard? Most of the functionality, of not all, of these boards can be found on much cheaper ones.

With the money saved you could put that towards the ssd.

nope it's actually right for the motherboard you want something from a reliable brand and also has the features you need. as qwerty has pointed out you probably won't use most of the motherboard features. Also will you be overclocking if not then you don't need a k processor.

I'm hoping to overclock. Which one would you suggest to get? Would the asrock be the best one?

To be honest I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for as I'm quite new to the pc building world. Is there a particular board you would recommend and also what kind of ssd would I be looking for?

This is the cheapest one which fits your requirements I could find: Your text here

I haven't researched this board in particular thoroughly so don't know if it's good for overclocking but it has m.2 and is z170 so can overclock.

uk.pcpartpicker.com is really useful when choosing components because you can filter them.

Hope that helps

Any modern ssd will be much faster than a traditional hard drive. I would recommend the crucial mx300 ssd series. They do a SATA connection (like hard drives) or m.2 which is theoretically faster but you probably won't notice a real world difference - go for whichever is the best value, with the most storage per unit price.

Also your gpu is going to limit you a fair bit from here on in, it won't run the latest current games on ultra in the future even more so, it also doesn't have free sync capabilities. And iirc the sli gains aren't worth much either.
But it may influence your mobo choice if going sli in the future.
The z1070 seems adequate.
