Hello, I bought one of these floor lamps which were reduced at Debenhams in October and the deal was posted on this site. Did anybody actually buy one of these as I'm having problems getting it to work, etc? Due to decorating, I did not get around to unboxing it until tonight. I only received very basic instructions (how to connect the 3 tubes and change a bulb) and the lamp was mostly put together, everything except connecting the tubes, which caused me a problem as the black wire going down through the tubes was connected to the dimmer switch block and I had to open up the dimmer switch, remove 3 wires, feed the black wire through then reconnect the 3 wires and then the dimmer switch. Did I do this right, as it seemed a bit ridiculous to have to do this?

Now have it put together, have tried sliding the dimmer switch (is that how you put it on by the way, as I can't see an on/off switch), but nothing is happening. I've had a look at the bulb and it seems intact. On the bottom tube there is a black piece with a screw in it, but don't know if this is for anything? I had to unscrew the wall plug as I could not fit the adapter in it as well. I could see a fuse at the back - did this have to stay there?

Could anybody please let me know if they have had problems putting the lamp together, and if not, if I have done something wrong in assembling it? This would be most appreciated. Thank you.
