I cannot recommend a paint BUT I can tell you DO NOT BUY standard Crown paint

You will have to do your job 3 times over to get a good finish

be careful when buying trade rated paints, if it's contract paint it's generally crap, it's designed to paint onto fresh plaster but it leaves a powdery surface behind which marks very easily. most of the cheap bulk paints b&q sell are contract, non contract is usually double the price

Not really an issue when its merely to freshen up a property in preparation to selling?

Leyland Matt would give good coverage with one coat, something I'm sure he OP would appreciate in there current position..?

IF it was an issue they do Vynl Matt/Silk @ £23.99/10ltrs, again good coverage.

Have to agree Leyland trade matt is thick paint. I have used wickes in the past and its like water in comparison

check your local B&M and also "the range" store - they often have a rande of brands for the emulsion paints in white - quite cheap and good coverage, i prefer the dulux ones myself but crown are ok - i would go with matt vinyl for long lasting finish, i used it in our lounge 3 yrs ago and its still looking clean and smooth.

If you're replastering I'd strongly recommend Screwfix own brand bare plaster pure bril white

I used this stuff and had no problems.

Johnson paint from B&M is great stuff for the money.

Dulux trade. Really thick good quality. Usually one coat is enough providing original wall is decent.

Agreed, excellent paint, but the OP asked for cheap paint...
