I guess the response time of a monitor used for games would be critical to avoid blurring of the image; what would be the minimum acceptable response time for use with the xbox (360)???

I bought the Samsung 20" widescreen monitor from PC Wprld yesterday, and that looks fantastic on the 360.

Only had a quick play last night, but need to fiddle with the settings on the 360 to find the best settings.

£199.

You can get cheaper 19" widescreens, but I wanted the 1680x1050 resolution of the 20"

As for response time, most monitors available now will have quicker response than almost all LCD TVs.

8ms or below should be ok, but please take into consideration that most manufacturers measure their times differently and these advertised times are just a guide. The human eye can only register at a certain level and I believe that is around 12ms (been a while since I read up on this sort of thing), from 12ms down to 1ms will probably not be seen any differently to the human eye if the manufacturers are true in their measurements.

Your best bet is to Google - Best xbox 360 monitor?

Then listen to what people say and take note of which monitor they are using.

Oh and I am using an old Samsung Syncmaster 15" and I must say that the colours are very good, but this is old and is 25ms and I do not game on my PC so it's not a problem. Just to let you know that Samsung are very very good in the TFT sector.
