blockbusters were doing wii plus mario kart plus fifa 09 for £179 and you could exchange fifa for samba

you only get 1 remote & 1 nunchuk with the wii, so you will need to get extra remotes. you can get the remote with the wii play game and i found the cheapest way for my family (needed 4 remotes) to get the remotes was to buy 3 wii plays and sell the other 2 wii play games on ebay :)
not all games need nunchuks so it's worth checking on the back of the games you buy to see if they are needed

would definatly recommend getting a extra wiimote and nunchuck cause standard wii only comes with one

would also recommend a rechargable wiimote stand cause otherwise youll go thru a whole lot of batteries, can pick em up for around a tenner and save u so much money on batteries in the long run

All you really need is an extra controller or maybe 2 if you all want to play at the same time. If you plan on playing it a lot then you can buy charge stands for the remotes for 10 - 15 quid so that you dont have to keep buying batteries.
I think mario kart is a good fun game for multiplayer and it comes with a steering wheel.
There are several clip ons for the remotes as well, like steering wheels, tennis rackets, , maracas (for the game you mentioned) but they dont do anything apart from alter the shape of the remote. So you can play mario kart without the wheel for example, its just slightly cooler playing it with the wheel.

You get everything you need in the box to start playing straight away, including a game (sports) and batteries, its just up to you what extras you want / need.

I would agree with all that is said so far. A Wii with Wii Sports included, Wii Play with the extra remote, another Nunchuck and possibly a Wiimote charging stand and your good to go. After that, it's just picking up whatever games takes your fancy. A personal favourite of mine is Links Crossbow Training. Keeps me and my GF entertained for hours and challenging enough to want you to come back to it.

Standard Wii comes with Wii Remote, Nunchuck and Wii Sports, as mentioned in the 1st Post you can buy package deals now with extra games for £180 so keep an eye out.

You'll definately need an extra wii remote and nunchuck controller, I personally would take the ebay route rather than buying the wii plays. If you buy the wii play, average price around £30 then you still need a nunchuck aswell - another £14. If you buy one off ebay, delivered from Japan (dodgy I know just make sure it says official wii and you'll be OK) you can pick that up for £28 delivered, i've bought 2!

As for Samba De Amigo, just bought this for my girlfriend off gameplay.co.uk 17.99 ordered sat, arrived today, cheapest around, xmas present tho so can't give you a verdict...lol.

Other games I would advise are Mario Kart, superb game, but you have to get extra wheels. Official ones are £8 on HMV. I used my mates cheaper version and for the extra couple of quid, it's always worth buying official stuff, just seems to function better.

As for the hot game of the moment the wii fit, I personally think everyone wants one cos they are hard to get, I bought one and within 2 months sold it, just gets boring, so just bear in mind what you pay and make sure your gonna use it, otherwise leave it alone.

Final Verdict, ive got a nice little games collection but always go back to Mario Kart and Wii Sports just for the fun factor.

Happy Buying!

Oh and a memory card, again you can get official sandisk ones on ebay for £6.

If you are buying games and accessories then remember to check the voucher section as there are 3 quid game vouchers of a 30 spend.

Wii Play and extra remote

There are always loads of deals on here for mario kart and wii bundles so keep an eye out.
Also some game sites that are good for cheap games are gameplay, game collection and 365 games. Or you can use search sites such as www.find-dvd.co.uk and click the games tab along the top.

Also you can save games on the wii itself although im not sure how much memory it has. If you are wanting to save a lot then you can buy a memory card, the official wii ones are expensive but if you get a similar type one they are all the same (just basically a memory card for a digital camera and the cheapest place to get these is definitely online, shops are a rip off for memory cards), but again you won't need one of these straight away.

I recently got Mario and Sonic at the Olmypic Games for my cousin and he is 6 and he loves playin it with his family and little sister (4). Thats a defintie for any family wanting a fun game, Samba de Amigo is not rated the highest on most websites (check if you want) but if you really want that game it has various familiar songs and is good fun.
