I plan to get rid of Fifa 17, just wanted to gauge peoples thoughts...

Yep you will see a difference, not many new games are going to come out on 360 now, and this last week was a great opportunity to upgrade to next gen with the amazing prices

Big diff, as its a new generation. That price to upgrade from Xbox 360 to PS4 is an absolute bargain

Do have a think about what kind of games you are going to be playing? Do you like anything platform specific?
Are you ditching the 360 or keeping it as well?
The PS4 is the popular choice this console generation and I have owned one since it came out but I rarely switch mine on. One of the reasons for that is I really do not like the PS4 controller.
I have always liked the controllers that come with the Xbox (including the huge one with the original Xbox).
If you own a lot digitally in makes more sense to move to an Xbox One S which has load of BC titles.
Also Halo and Forza.

The pad is awkward but is great as an entertainment centre

I'm looking to maybe get Battlefield 1, I like a good shooter, have recently enjoyed the Far Cry series, I don't mind other types of games such as racing stuff etc.. but roleplay games are just not my cup of tea...
#7
Thanks for your help everyone, you've helped me on my way...

well there plenty on ps4 shooter games all different types from sci-fi, military, zombie etc then your racing games ps4 are about to launch the next instalment of gran torismo, along with your rally games, formula 1 etc, graphics and game play is much better and if your willing to pay for online gaming the deals are improving with resident evil and transformers free for October
#9
Obviously xbox one has its own with unique gaming and arguably better online deals but you can't go wrong either way, plus I think fifa trades in at 40 so you can easily get 2 games you fancy through game

You will only regret it when you use the controller, but I'm sure you'll get used to that eventually.

If you can get Driveclub with the season pass cheap, you won't need another driving game for ages. Absolutely loads of content for it. Brilliant game.

Yeah of course! I still have my 360 and PS3 Slim. Even though I have a backlog of games to play, it is really hard for me to switch the console on again because any time I want to play something, the PS4 is the console choice I turn to. Might take a while to get used to the controller but when you do, it can be hard to go back to the older generation. Well for me it is anyway. The 360 and PS3 controller just feels so weird now.

did the exact same thing you did, but at the ps4 launch. must admit I loved the ps4 controller, fits nice in the hand, good weight to it, button placement is great. switched back to Xbox cos all my friends where there, but honestly do miss the ps4 controller, each to their own i guess, but go at it with an open mind lol. the console its self is amazing, again bit of a difference from the Xbox, but it's clutter free, and easy to navigate. you'll like it bud, good choice :-)

The PS4 & PSN is much improved, lots of free games to play (War thunder, mmos). Also PS+ is good for this month and if you join today then you will get last months games as well.

I've just got a xbox one s as I never had a x360 and Forza Horizon looks too good, the controller is good and all especially the triggers and it feels very solid. The sticks will take a while to get used to.
But the XB1 UI is shocking, just all over the place and I still haven't figured how to actually close a game/application. I had to look up how to do video captures and even then I failed to get what I wanted (just the last 5 minutes of gameplay).

I'm playing Dark souls 1 through b/c on it so the xbox team are at least doing something right. (_;)

Just highlight app or game on dashboard and press menu button , then choose quit.

Am I the only one that thinks the PS4 controller is one of the best right up there with the 360 controller and that the Xbox One controller feels awful?

Thanks. I thought it would all hang off the Xbox button.
I have lots to learn. :D

Can't comment on the Xbox 1 controller as I've not seen it, let alone handle it. However, the PS4 pad is much much improved from PS3, and for me, right up there with the 360 pad. I find it really comfortable to handle.

Erm, wrong? The PS4 is pretty awful compared to an Xbox One as an entertainment centre with the one exception being Spotify, however even that is now on Xbox One with a third party app.
#21
FTCom if you like shooters then Xbox one would be more suitable but then again ps4 is decent, I just find the pad very awkward for shooters. The 360 was and still is an amazing console but yes the ps4 is a jump up in terms of graphics but little else more.
#22
I find the PS4 pad horrendous to hold and use. It gives me bad aches in my hands after a couple of hours.

All the Xbox pads since the first massive one have sat nicely in my hands though
#23
all these people complaining about a controller... get a life! it's a controller there is nothing wrong with it other than the battery life and the useless touch pad.

any comment stating otherwise should be ignored, it hurts your hands? silly nonsense.
#24
Agreed, the PS4 controller is very comfortable and doesn't hurt the hands. The battery life is poor sadly and not much better than a Wii U. Why can't you switch the stupid light off??
