Wireless Router with good range

Hello.

I have just signed up to tiscali and the free wireless router they gave me has an appalling signal range. I only have 1 BT Socket which is at the far end of the house so I need a wireless router with a really good range - at least 12 metres, does anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

Omni-Directional 7dBi Antenna with Reverse SMA Connection

Boosts the range of an existing Wireless Device that has a removable SMA Antenna. Compatible with 802.11b (11Mbps) and 802.11g (54/108/125). Reverse SMA is the most common standard for removable antennas for wireless routers and pci cards. Found on most D-link, Netgear, Belkin, Linksys and many other makes. If the antenna can be removed on your wifi device, you can replace it with this antenna to get an improved signal.

A email to the company will confirm its suitability with your equipment

they trade on ebay just use "Omni-Directional 7dBi Antenna" as your search

I had a 3com previously but it was a nightmare to setup with aol and then died. The tiscali wireless router I have now is completely useless so although i need something new, i'm not sure 3com is the way forward for me given my past experience.

Does anyone know which wireless router has the best range (within a reasonable price of course)?

Networking over power circuits seems to be taking off now.

Nor indeed Belkin or DLink.

Ive just installed this one and it works great. My office is on the middle floor of a 5 level house and I can get great access from basement to the top bedroom.

We have had no probs and it's been around for a while.

I have an "introduce a friend" option for this....

and this....

https://shop.fon.com/FonShop/shop/GB/ShopController?view=product&product=PRD-ANT01

from their shop for about eight quid for both including P&P.

Its not a router as such - it would need to be connected with a network cable to your router (supplied) - or you could just use the antenna directly with your router.

Its an RP-SMA connectorm and mine has given me a signal to a room two away on a higher floor with a packed solid store room between.

The actual FON idea is quite good too of you signed up it gives you free wifi access while away from home - there is a map on the site to find locations.
