Looking for a basic laptop/tablet, only using it for work (self employed upholstery). Getting annoying replying to all my emails on my phone, so looking for something not expensive tops £200 that would do for reading and sending emails. And the odd website browsing of some of my suppliers, don't need a big fancy screen or anything. Help??

A chromebook will do you good for what you will use it for, you can easily get a chromebook for under £200

Yeah chromebooks are pretty good for web browsing, google docs and emails just remember they don't have software available to windows or mac so if you was hoping for outlook then you will be stuck with the web only version. Also the battery life is brilliant on chromebooks

I've had several refurbs from Tesco Outlet, all were brand new, 12 months warranty.

Thanks a lot for the replies. Big help! These refurb ones look ideal for me. A friend of mine did mention go for a refurbished one.

My suggestion may be overkill for what you will use it for, but if you have, or can get your hands on an old laptop/PC/tablet (less than 8 years old), I'd recommend buying something like this and visiting http://www.tradeuptohp.com to claim £200 cashback when you trade in your old machine.

EDIT: Sorry, I've only just seen that you said £200 tops. This would get you a much better machine for not a lot more cash, but as I've said already, it may be overkill for your intended purpose.

Just go for cheapest refurb you can find if thats all you're needing it for.
Heck if you look on here, a 10" convertible tablet would do you.

If you only need a tablet they have them for around £80 in Tesco.

2nd hand Dell Latitude. Pick up an old one for less than £100 which will do everything you need and they're built very solid. If you're anywhere near Reading I have one for sale!
