Theatre card says it offers discounted tickets etc. and costs £35. I have never been a frequent theatregoer but was pleasantly surprised when i watched Wicked last year which was a gift for my girlfriend. I intend watching a few shows this year and the first two are before the end of March, tickets will cost around £200 in total for 6. Does anyone know what discount is offered by using the theatre card?

It depends on the show that you want to see and when you want to go. I usually check it out on their website and see what the savings are and when they're offered. You always save the booking fee and postage, but some opening nights and week days you can get decent savings of £5/£10 per ticket. If even one show covers the cost of the card then it's worth doing imo. http://www.atgtickets.com/

Have you tried asking them as the discount probably depends on the show involved

I've looked through FAQ but it doesn't mention level of discount offered, seems to focus more on associated benefits which do not interest me at all. I just thought i would ask in case anyone knew on here, but thanks for taking the time to reply :)

Thank you for your reply. To see the discount I think you would have to have the card already, which is why I have asked on here. If the discount is £5 per ticket then the card is worth buying at £35, these tickets alone would get me £30 discount and I would gain on future purchases. If the discount was around 10% then it probably wouldn't be worth it for me in the long run. Thanks again for your help :)

Which shows and venue do you intend to go to? Our card has expired unfortunately so I can't log in but I've always been able to find out in the past. Not sure if this was from an email maybe though.

Hi, I am looking at the palace theatre/opera house in Manchester / 4 tickets to watch Bat out of hell and 2 tickets to watch grease. All the tickets are around £35 on average I think

I can't see any way to see without logging in but I've found the online brochure. If you go to the pages for Bat out of Hell and Grease they tell you what the savings are and which nights. I would check the ticket availability for the nights it mentions first tho, and that should show you how much they are. One of them only offers them on the dearer seats. I'm pretty sure you save the £4 fee plus postage as well.

thank you so much for your help Gill81uk, I had never heard of isuu.com before. You're correct, it's £5 per ticket off Monday and Wednesday shows for Bat Out Of Hell and £12.50 off top price tickets on opening night of Grease. If the others want to go on Monday or Wednesday I would save £5 a ticket, plus transaction fee so will probably go for it. You're answers were just what I was looking for, thank you very much :D
