Only you can answer that.

If the XBox exclusives, backward compatibility with certain games and friends to play online with are enough to tempt you then of course it's worth it.

If it's going to sit in a corner gathering dust then it's not worth it.

I almost did this when they were going really cheap but then I realised I just didn't need it. I already have a pc and an xbox. I have a shed load of games I haven't got around to playing on both so getting a ps4 would be pointless for me. Guess it depends if you think you would use it

There are cheaper paper weights...

Honestly, it's inferior to the PS4. The only reason to buy would be exclusives, if there's any you NEED. The only one on/coming to XBOX I want is "Cuphead", but I'll get it on Steam. Sony on the otherhand are chock full of exclusives I NEED.

I'd get a PSVR over an Xbox (I did).

I agree, already own an Xbox One but contemplated getting a PS4 when they were going for £149. In fact, I actually found one in stock but thought twice about it. At the end of the day, there's currently only 3 games I can't get for the Xbox that if want to play... Days Gone, the Unchartered series, and The Last Of Us. Not worth the investment for 3 games when I have roughly 50 games on my Xbox Live I haven't yet even played. As people have suggested do a games audit etc and see if it's worthwhile in long run.

I have been looking at possibly getting one for the past 2 years... It just isn't worth it for me.

Plus with the announcement that MS will be selling these games on PC now anyway that was just the nail in the coffin.

I was thinking the same the other about get a xbox one, only for the pure reason of EA access.

more than happy with my PS4, but just fancy a change.

This is just my own opinion, but I get the feeling a lot of these game companies will struggle in the next few years, yes you've always got a hardcore base of fans who will buy the latest games, but there also appears to be a lot of people struggling with an ever larger backlog of games they have yet to play, made worse by added DLC available.

I myself have about 50 odd games that are currently 'work in progress' all at different stages, some near to completion, some still unwrapped but picked up cheap... too much good stuff out there at the moment.

If inferiority is the reason then exclusives and friends is the only reason for an Xbox, its also the only reason for the ps4. You'd get a PC which out performs them both. That said for some reason you have a PS4, so I'd imagine for similar reasons someone else will have a Xbox.

In the real world, both consoles are pretty samy performance wise. Id say only go for either model if you have friends on that ecosystem or exclusives you love but at the end of the day, its not a massive financial commitment so if you want one and can afford one, then this is a good time price wise.

if you have a deep love of the xclusives then yes. otherwise be patient for next christmas (2017) to pick up a scorpio. Unless you find a cheap fat model (the old ones)

I did this with the PS3, bought it when it was on offer and never really used it. Bought a broken PS4 (hdmi) and fixed it for £100. Only played uncharted 4. I think it's always tempting to buy the other console but I would stick with the one you play on the most.

I own both & play on both. Most my friends have an Xbox One so i play all the multiplayer games on there then use the PS4 for all the single player games like Witcher & Fallout. If you think you're going to play on it then get one!
