I wondering if its worth changing for the Motorola G4 or wait until the Nexus 5x is sub £200 or go second hand M9 or S6? Would appreciate your thoughts

If you are too much concerned about performance I would stick to the M8 which is a good phone.

One you have additional budget consider getting a oneplus 3 phone which is very highly rated. The new Google Pixel is my opinion not worth paying iPhone prices.

The Pixel is nice, but not £599 nice in my opinion.

with a £200 budget, do you want to stick with android? there's a fantastically specced phone available at that price, but not worth suggesting if you're happy and want to stay.

Yes, staying android - tried Windows and the AMazon phone in past, liked both but not enough app support for my liking as a few we use across family devices didnt work right

I'm keeping my M8 until late 2017 at the very least provided it keeps working. Does everything I need it to and it's performance is good enough for me. Will probably upgrade to the OnePlus 4 or 5 once I finally do get a new phone, the OnePlus 3 has fantastic specs and reviews for the price so presumably the next models will be along the same lines.

you could look into rooting and flashing your m8 with custom firmware, that will more than likely speed it up and make it better than it originally was.

Keep M8 mate.

Think consensus at moment is to keep M8 - which goes against my gadget mentality but is probably the sensible option -at least until some of current ones drop massively or come up 2nd hand on EBay

Second installing custom firmware, if you have the time

Third keep the M8 and put a custom ROM on it!
it'll speed it up a bit and probably be easier on the battery too.

Have a look over at XDA.com it's easier than most think
