We have stuff in our freezer a year or two out of date, always been perfectly fine when we've had it, just cook it properly.
#7

#8
Just think of the regret when you're throwing up all weekend. It's not worth it!
#9
Of course it's safe. Don't listen to the idiot's. Christ what's a freezer for? :)

The Cold, Hard Facts About Frozen Food. Items from the freezer section of the supermarket are safe to eat indefinitely. They have expiration dates because they won't taste good forever; flavor and texture break down over time and because the package is exposed to air when you open and shut the freezer door.
#11
I'd eat it!
#12
Go for it! Just make sure you have plenty of loo roll stocked.

You can freeze meat for a long time and it will still be safe to eat, but the quality will deteriorate so it's best to eat it within three to six months.
Don't worry if it's frozen for longer – try marinating it before cooking to improve texture or use herbs and spices to add flavour.

From NHS website.

As long as it has been in a freezer and not defrosted I don't see why not
#15
It'd be a great technique to shift a stone quick!
banned#16

It's only 4.5 months ago. It'll be absolutely fine.
#18
I'm just going to eat it. It's been frozen and it's a best before not use by. I'll put it in for a little longer to cook n give it a good smell before hand.

#22
If its been frozen it will be fine ,for another year at least . I presume some of the previous daft answers were due to folks not reading your question fully :(
#23
Haha I'd be mental to have left it in the fridge for 5 months and want it!
#24
Me to. I would eat it. Cook it will kill the bugs as with any food. What's for pudding then?

I'd definitely eat it! Good for the ol' immune system. 8)

Yesterday I went to cook some eggs, got 2 in the pan and went and cracked open the third, some grey rotten thing dropped out and it smelt like death. Turns out the eggs expired back in October. X)

And I ate 3 eggs from the same box a few days earlier! oO

people eat yoghurts... yes they are basically out of date milk.... dont see anyone complaining.
same goes for cheese
#34
Penicillin rarely kills anyone.
#35
Old food cannot harm you, only if it has become contaminated.
And a best before date is often a taste test by marketers. Not if it's actually unsafe

Age might increase the likelihood of contamination. Not in a freezer though.
#36
I would have no problem eating it well past the best before. however if you ask my Mrs she won't eat anything a day before that date. sigh
#37
Don't worry guys! I'm still alive!
