Can't believe it but my son's turned 17 (i've just turned 36) and is having his driving lessons.
I want to get him a cheap run around but am having trouble finding him something.
I guess it's harder now what with this scrappage scheme but need to find him something as he's desperate for a car (and can then drive to college).
Looking for something upto £600ish,
Not too fussed what it is, maybe a punto/clio/fiesta but no bigger than a 1.2 (insurance!!).
Anybody know of any good websites.
He's based in Surrey.
Rep for help, cheers

have you got a local auction ? they ae not as they used to be and my friends have had really good deals there. Just take someone who knows about cars if you dont?

good luck with that! a friend of mine has been looking for something similar, no chance. the chuffing scrappage scheme wasn't properly thought out at all.

it's criminal and utterly heartbreaking when you see all those perfectly good cars getting crushed..........

The autotrader will probably be your best bet.

I remember look for my first car, when I rang up garages I'd get told the car was sold, or everytime I went to view a car it looked like it had ploughed fields. I was willing to let this go but my Dad refused. In the end he made me wait until the right one came along which was extremely frustrating, but it was worth the wait! It was a Punto too - there are some mint ones out there, just be patient :).

I had a word with her and due to her changing her mind about getting a mazda 2, she's had to pull, I'm sorry

Slightly more than you wanted to pay but they may accept a bit less.

I have a Corsa. They are cheap to run, cheap to insure and are reliable.

Citroen AX, i've had mine for ages, no problems and i bought mine for £100 looking about you can pick a decent one up for less tahn £500.

Very small, perfect first car, cheap insurance too.
