I'm after a D-Link DSM-520 Network Media Player. Best prices I can find are Komplett at £172 inc del (no stock), £191 inc del at More Computers and several others. I can't *quite* make the £170/180 odd right now, so a lower price deal is eagerly sought.

2nd hand mint would be OK.

TIA

Does it have to be DSM-520? What is so special about this player? Why not Buffalo, Snazzi, Netgear, etc?

(I have DSM-320RD and really happy about it! It was one day special from Scan - 99 quid :)).

I dont need a DVD player, but do need HDMI output. Too many user reviewed probs with Buffalo and Snazzio looks to be even more pricey.

Komplett have it now at £165 plus del, so thats probably going to be my choice in two pocket money days time (2 weeks).

I'm looking for a media player too.

Doesn't have to be wireless (quite like to play with Ethernet over power) but the main thing is that it needs not be reliant on any type of software installed on a windows server as the backend source. I don't have any Windows PCs - only linux

Any of those do that?

Try Freecom MediaPlayer kit. It is able to access SMB shares.
