Hi guys,

My mate is after a Xbox 360 Premium and were trying to get the best price. Anyone know what the best deal is at the moment, i.e. via discount codes/quidco, etc?

Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Best price found: £179.99 PC World

PS - I searched for this but as deals/vouchers change & expire daily I thought I would try for a fresh deal.

Via Woolworths, using the "WW1" discount code at checkout, you can get 10% off. You can get a further 5% cashback using Quidco website, resulting in a whopping 15% reduction on the £279.99 initial cost. Order it to be picked up instore as well, if you can to save on postage.

Should get it for £237.99.

Can anyone beat this?

With quidco you only get 5% of the discounted price so its not quite a 15% saving!

boots is cheapest with points etc, works out around £200 usually once you have used all the vouchers and quidco etc

Hi PennyPincher

The best I can get with Boots is 1 voucher at a time, the best one being 1000 points (£10) + 6.5% quidco payment (£18.20).

This reduces the cost to £251.79, which is still greater than Woolworths.

Do you have an accurate list of steps to get the price down to ~£200?
#8
The WW1 does not seem to affect the price when I use it ... I did choose 'store collect'. Has the code expired?
#9
Cost at Boots.com (with 10% voucher and leaving delivery as free standard) is £251.99.

Dude

Sweet! I tried using the 10% off code (ENTERTAINMENT), but the field only allows 10 characters.

I didn't think of using the 10% of £45, as I thought that would only give £4.50! So, cheezy_chip, remember to use code "FFER57".

So, in summary:

Price is £251.99

You also get £11.19 worth of Boots points.
You SHOULD get 6.5% quidco (== £16.38 ).

So, deducting this off your XBox, it comes to....(drum roll)

£224.42!

A saving of £55.57.

Do you get the points by using a 1000 points coupon or simply by entering your Boots card details? The reason I ask is because I do not have a Boots card (yet).

Cheers.

That's right, you get £11.19 in points on your Boots card. Definitely worth getting one!

Luckily my other half has one, which we've got on file.

Using the same method you can get a 360 Core for only £159.00.

You just gotta hope that your quidco transaction gets logged!

To clarify - you get the points JUST by entering / having a Boots card registered and NOT by entering a 'points coupon' ?
#14
That's right, with any purchase you make at boots you get 4 points for every pound. So for 279 of 'em you get £11.16.

We got our Boots card when we had a baby a while back. We bought all our nappies and stuff through Boots. With all the offers they have running, we amassed £300 on our card at one point!

Everyone got toiletries for Christmas that year, I remember 8)

I'm also in the position of waiting for the best deal on an XBOX 360 ... hope I get my timing right and there isn't a price shift after I buy one

Also slightly worried about the console going out of stock in the run up to Xmas

The Boots deal doesn't include any games and only one wireless controller
http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1065134&classificationid=1025901
but the price is decent

ToysRUs are doing one at £299.97
http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Product.aspx/TruOrFindUsing/TruAZOfBrands/TruVideoGamesXbox360/TruVideoGamesXbox360Consoles/879363
but with 2 wireless controllers (extra controller worth approx. £30) and PGR and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (the games must be worth at least £25 each)
What kind of discounts can you get on Toysrus website?
#16
I am in the same boat as you kowalski, and can't find better than the toys r us deal you quoted. 3% off through quidco brings the price down a bit.

well that is kind of it, if you can wait for boots to do an auto 10% off promo, that'll leave you with a chance to add a code to the basket, which will bring it down to nearer £200.

this deal has come along 2 or so times that i know so far, so is quite regular, plus the xbox RRP price will bound to drop again after xmas nearer the ps3 launch if you can wait a couple of months.
#18
Just ordered mine from Boots, chose the £5 for next day delivery as wanted it for the weekend!

They have said that the price will not drop at all - i know they normally say this but they really haven't got a need to - not with the new £299 bundle.

actually they said the xbox360 is liable to drop in price on a yearly basis, so far i have only seen the core drop in price, and the premium bundled with gear for a "better" deal. that still has yet to drop in price though.

also i read microsoft are working on awarding contracts for parts/finding ways to make it cheaper to build. as they are making a loss, im guessing theyll pocket this though if they manage to build it cheaper.

however with the wii comming out and both being similar prices, once some of the sales of the ps3 have been drawn away towards the wii/360, their main competetor would be nintendo and theyll be looking to better the wii's price.

Game are doing a pretty good deal at the minute although it isn't on their website, you'll have to go instore. I asked if it was a manager special and they told me it was nationwide.

Basically their offer is:

Xbox Premium
Project Gotham Racing + Wireless control pad
Plus one game from:
Tomb Raider
Samurai Warriors 2
The Outfit

That's for £299. Doesn't sound too good right? It isn't but when you buy a Xbox 360, they also give you the option of buying up to two games from the below list for £20 per game.

Just Cause
Dead Rising
Saints Row
Prey
Lego Star Wars 2
Table Tennis

There was also two more on that list that I forget. I personally bought The first bundle plus Dead Rising and Saints Row for £339.

I think they rotate those games though as the old poster I saw last week had Ninety-Nine Nights and Elder Scrolls on the list as well as a few others but not Dead Rising. If you wait until Pro Evolution is released, they may include that on the list.

Another bit of luck!

My Boots online account was not showing despatch - so, rang them three times and was told due to problems with their warehouse etc, they'd been unable to send it so I'd receive it tomorrow. Hmmm! I Complained (obviously!) and gave a sop story about it being a gift for my nephew etc ... so they knocked off a further 10% from the order total as well as refunding me the delivery charge. RESULT!

Website price = £279.99 ....

> less 10% discount code - £251.99
> plus delivery charge of £5.50 - £257.49
> less 10% goodwill refund of £25.75 - £231.74
> less delivery refund of £5.50 - £226.24

> less Advantage points of £11.19 - £215.05
> less Quido 6.5% cashback of £16.74 = £198.31

So: XBox 360 premium - £279.99 - down to £198.31!!

A worthwhile order me thinks!

Paid the £5.50 for next day delivery ... called them as my account was not showing it had been despatched. Called Boots three times and was told due to problem with warehouse, they'd been unable to send it so it would be with me tomorrow.

That's just amazing. I thought at best they would've given you your postage back and some extra points, but another 10% - fantastic!

Enjoy your 360 mate!
