There's this one at LIK-SANG which is a 5 in 1 cable for £16 + del... i think you could probably just get a single VGA cable for about a tenner, but for the difference in price, you might as well just get this one

Or....

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-de-49-en-70-16s8.html

Will cost you £3.75 + £2.39 delivery.

Better still, do as I do, register as a wholesaler and you can get them for £1.74 each when you buy 10. Sell the other 9 on ebay and you get it for free.

Ta da!

thanks for that thekanester... a much better price there for what is needed. I might just get one myself :)

Note hat the one linked to at pay-asia doesnt have an optical out, so if you ever intend to connect to a Surround sound system, you'd be stuck with that one.

For another £1 you can get the one with the optical out. I should have mentioned that!

Reviews of the non-official cables (including the joytech one) say that the colours are often "off" (i.e. a slightly different shade than they should be). If you've shelled out for an xbox 360 it may be worth an extra tenner or so to get an official cable to ensure perfect picture quality. Up to you though.

I've tried both official and cheapo Play-Asia ones on our Samsung LE32R74 TV and I can tell you that there is no difference at all in the picture. What I can say, however, is that the build quality of the leads isn't as good. I imagine that if I was plugging the leads in and out everyday then the cheaper leads would wear out quicker since they don't feel as stiff, but the image quality is as identical as I can figure, honestly.

I've also tried the official component leads and the cheapo ones, and there's a little difference with those, but not much as they're both a little fuzzy and it's really a matter of taste which fuzziness you like best.

This is my experience with this one television, perhaps others out there may have info to add on this?

Yeah, there were conflicting responses from people regarding unoficcial cables. I think it depends on the setup / TV that you are using, and also probably depends on which cheapo cable you get. I wasn't trying to tell people not to get the unofficial cables, just to let you know that you run the risk of getting a worse picture quality. I decided to go for an official VGA cable, mainly because I could go down to road to buy it and use it straight away!!!

£44.95 from TVCables

it depends on your TV aswell, i have tried official/3rd party vga/component cables and i get a better picture via vga from the joytech vga cable, a snip at £10 aswell.

cables are placebo, you only think they are better cos you paid more for them ;)

Gotta love Monster cables :) I'd be absolutely shocked if a mass produced product like the 360 even had the video output quality to take advantage of it in the first place.

That said, if anyone on HUKD wants to buy me a Christmas present...
