I tried a few but got some problems. Tried a bridge with the ethernet cable and was ok but bulky. Finally bought the genuine and it works 100%, no problems, no wires, no mess.
You can purchase a wireless G gaming adapter, basicall you pplug the network cable between it and the xbox (google it for more info) but you need a pc tp set it up.

Or there is the powerline ethernet plugs, basically you plug these into the mains then 1 cable into the router & 1 into the xbox and it runs the network over the mains.

Or if you can find these at your local store work out cheaper.

The only good thing about the official one is that you can set it up on the xbox and no extra wires running around.
I have one of the Belkin wireless gaming bridges for sale, as new boxed etc. It can also connect via usb to save on wires. PM if your interested pal
