Xbox One Console Deals? Cold? Where To Buy?

Morning All,

If you search HUKD for XBone console deals, you’ll notice the last 10+ have all been voted uber cold.

*YET*

There are no hot deals for the console for months on end.

So are these been down voted by haters – or is there some super deal I've missed?

I'm looking to pick one up – my usual channel of “Throw all my old cruddy DVDs at CEX and get one” is a bit of a dead end – as they only sell them without Kinect for £325. Which seems steep (I think?!)

Again, all the cold voting has confused me as to what I should be paying.

You can get a Used Good/Very Good from Amazon Marketplace for £300… So I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm what the best deal for one is?

Happy to go pre-owned if the saving is good enough – but open to any help.

Thank you HUKD’ers!

intrigued around the buying credit for 80p etc, but thats prob one to take offline ;-)

No probs, its often advertised in the for sale section, the "going rate" is around 80-85%.

81% here
http://www.hotukdeals.com/for-sale-trade/fs-cex-voucher-worth-183-60-1959350

But I deal with this a lot, as I obtain the credit myself - then fulfil orders of loved ones and friends.

Just so happens though, there has been "sweet fa" to buy and sell recently.

Damn them and their watertight'ness haha.

Recently, Pokemon at Argos (for £7.99) was the highlight of my week - as that went for £13.

So that was +62.5% gain. So that £275 Xbox One would have been £169 --- which is brilliant.

However, my local Argos stores only had 3-4 copies in each, so 12 copies I managed, but that £156 credit. Which went quick!

Its a risky business, what with the volatility of pricing on the CEX website - but its made me a few quid.

Just a shame im now on the buying side of things :D Most frustrating Haha.

Ahhh get what you mean now about buying cex vouchers here..

a man after my own heart! i once cashed in on a misprice on avengers BR (spotted on HUKD), think i made around £8 a copy. made £80 cash on that one!

I got my preowned day one from game for £300 (inc kinnect). Also got around £8 in their points with this.

May be better deals out there, just thought i'd share for comparatives.

Cheers, thanks Jason.

I see refurbs pop up for Tesco/Argos on eBay every now and then (latest was the 3rd July) and they go for £289.

They have the Kinect-less one at CEX for £325, so if I can get this via ‘means’ then that’s around £260, but again – no kinect.

I personally don’t use my Kinect, its merely a clever way of signing in.

I see them on Cash Generators for £260-270 too.

For if you can get Kinect etc for £300 included, then that’s looking okay.

Gumtree and eBay (private) seems to be rife with consoles, yet nobody ever seems to want to deal.

People have got really tight recently… Even though, 75% of the time, their BIN Price minus the 10% FVF is less than you offer!?

Its bizarre. Haha.

£289 is a decent price for a store i reckon, guess you get some sort of warranty with that also?

I debated on cex as had a 360 to get rid of...but £325 without kinect is just greedy, especially when it probably came to them with and they just take out of the box and try to get more money out of you for it. i prefered to go with a store rather than seller on this occasion, so i could have there and then in my hand (although not opposed to distance selling in general).

In the end i took my 360 to cex and got the vouchers, then got a couple of games for the xbone there and kept the rest for future purchases.

Turns out i got a winner with mine, as it came with a charge and play battery (just needed cheap £1 cable) and for some reason when i loaded my gamertag onto it, i had a copy of Fifa 14 ready to install. (BONUS!)

Not bad at all.

Im looking at the various versions now - i.e. with and without kinect, which is naughty, but yes - they need to get competitive.

The RRP on standalone Kinect is something like £99.99, yet you can pick them up for £40 on eBay/Gumtree etc. Might be an option.

Ive had a few Gumtree/eBay sellers come back to me with various deals... Ive only targeting Kinect versions, but the price seems to be around £280 for a Kinect version with a game or extra controller.

The annoying thing is, id chew their arm off at £250 - and at £30 more (£280) it just doesnt seem like big money in the grand scheme of life haha.

Yes, its £30 - and £30 could be a dent off of a game... But I think the time im going to expel searching until the release of Destiny... That time could be saved... for the princely sum of £30 haha.

My mate works at CEX too and he can get staff discount, so the £325 becomes £275. Then you can usually obtain/buy credit for 80p in the pound, so if I can find a seller, thats more like £220.

So £220 'bare bones' then pick up a Kinect (if deemed worth it) then im ready to rock.

Bonus being the 12 month warranty.

Plus, that £220 (@80%) could be further reduced with rubbish tech/entertainment laying around the house.

high five for the buddy discount!

i've never had to call on the warranty of cex, hopefully wont come to that if you do get it form there. Sounds like the smart choice though.

I'd prob get the kinect from them if you really wanted it, as only £20...its just the principal of paying for it when it should be yours already is the thing for me. I'm not that fussed about it for games, but agree its cool to talk to it and sign in based on who's in the room.

I agree, money for nothing (or simply marching my mail down to CEX) is life affirming. Haha.

Cashback to boot.

Would hate to knock you out your seat with some of the volumes ive gotten away with :D

Guys, I'm in the same boat. Desperate to upgrade but the lack of deals is really quite frustrating. Having played the Destiny beta I am now even more keen to get the ONE. Bizarre there hasn't been a single good deal in ages....

True.

Ive now solved my problem. I contacted a member of the 'Inner Circle' and got a chunk of CEX Credit at 80%.

Then I got my mate (who wanted it) to use his staff discount (15%)

So he got a discounted Xbox (discounted because it was missing the headset) for £310.

Got the headset for £8 (although the discounted price is £15 cheaper than the 'full' version)

Bought Kinect for £20, so total price is £338.

@ 15% Staff Discount = £287

@ 20% Credit Discount = £230

Now he's Destiny Ready.

Little gutted for him, as I played the Beta to death and loved it. He got to dabble at mine for about an hour and was sold.

In the meantime, he's looked for a cheap download code of Fifa 14, but im amazed the prices are holding as A) FIFA 15 is out soon and B) Surely the market is awash with codes as everyone got one Day One.

But no, the cheapest I can see is £29 - which for a game that will be redundant in 2 months is rubbish.

Tempted to tell him to get COD for £26.

Or just stick to Steam - as we're all still loving PayDay 2 and Red Solstice :D

He's still in shock and awe at £230 for a full system with 12 month guarantee.

Pretty good I'd say!
I've got cod, went from being fairly good player on the 360 to being shocking on the xbone. Don't play it anymore. It's all about battlefield 4 for me now :)

Best “New” deal I can see at the minute is TCB offering £42 CashBack on two product lines at Argos.

Note: The game is a download code and not a sellable physical copy

They are also running their

hey guys

I know it doesn't particularly help either of you but I just bought mine from ebay. Console, Kinect, headset, 1 controller, 5 games. All that set me back £365.

So keep your eyes peeled on the auction sites. Better deals to be had there than stores currently.
