Maybe my { } are in the wrong places and maybe my script is 8 times larger than u could make it......
I don't suppose you was ever wrong/made mistakes or had problems understanding when you was learning something new?
Get a life and learn to live it then learn to understand that others don't have all that you have......that's especially why the internet has forums so people can request advice/help.....and not to be answered in such a way as yours

Incorrect - it turns yellow when the page is "bookmarked"

Try this
Enter "chrome://flags" into the URL bar, and hit enter.
Search for Enable Enhanced Bookmarks option and in the pull-down menu, select "Disable."
Close and restart Chrome.
After Re-launch, the "bookmarks star" should be back where it belongs on the right end of the url/search bar.

Currently using Chrome Version 42.0.2311.90 m and if I bookmark a page - the star (bookmarks(favourites as it used to be called)) turns yellow.

Found this - you could try

1. Close the Chrome web browser. If you don’t, you can’t delete any file related your browser.
2. Open your User Data folder. Head to “C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default” for Windows users who are using Windows Vista, 7 and Windows 8. In Windows XP, just go to “C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default”. In Mac OS X, the location is “~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default”. For more details click here.
3. Rename the Favicons file to reset the cache data for favicons.
4. Restart Chrome.
5. Click on a bookmark to restore the missing favicon.

Scrub that, looks like duff info.

How about pressing ctrl + shift + D to bookmark a page manually... maybe it will then appear...

OK clever clogs Mr know it all. I hate it when people think they know everything.

However, my answer was not incorrect. The star is grey and not yellow. You are correct in that it does turn yellow once bookmarked but as the OP cannot bookmark it then it will be grey if they can find the star.

8.1

Possibly, because I'm a know it all (someone's in season right now) your folder "AppData" is hidden.

Did you see the folder?

If no Control panel, folder options, view, show hidden files , folders and drives. and try again for renaming Favicons folder
