I am returning a faulty pressure washer to Argos and spoke to customer services yesterday and was told someone from Yodel will collect it today between 7am and 8pm. I've waited in all day and I'm self employed so it's cost me a days wages. Just phoned Argos back up at 9pm and they said they don't know what's happened, they took my number and said they will speak to Yodel and give them my number so they can phone me to arrange another day. What can I do about this or do I just accept it is what it is. Waited 15 hours today for nothing and lost a days wage, could've had a nice day in the park with my little one or went to work. So frustrating. I suppose I could've returned it to the store myself but that would've cost me £10 each way in a taxi to get to my nearest Argos. What would you do? Thanks

why would you wait in all day to return an item instead of working?
#2
Try to get them to pick it up from your workplace instead of home maybe

The local courier allocated to collect was most likely self employed. The system falls apart when the local courier is off and either no cover is arranged, or self employed courier from another area is expected to do their route, and someone elses on top. Personally I'd take it back to store than wait again for a courier that might not turn up.

Phone yodel and make a complaint, then phone argos and make another complaint, tell argos the situation and state that you should be compensated, they are usually excellent at sending gift vouchers out.

Oh grow up, should be compensated, all I see nowadays is sue him sue her, compensate this compensate that.

Ask them to collect from your workplace or see if you can get someone to drop you to an Argos store, £10 in a taxi is what 5-10 minutes away?

Look up nearest Yodel drop off point.May be a store close by.Just keep receipt.

I had a similar problem a few years ago. The nice person at Argos arranged a different courier that picked up at a time that was convenient for me. I think they used UPS or DHL. May be worth a call and see if they will send a more reliable courier.

Because that's the only way of getting it returned at the moment.

Might just have to take it back myself and pay for the taxi. Can't risk taking another day off.

I've been waiting 3 weeks now since getting to arrange a return, and had 3 failed to turn up days of my items not being picked up. I'm still waiting and am beginning to lose patience with them. I'm going to write to head office as my next step asking them to resolve this and get my items picked up.

You are a chauffeur yet it's going to cost £10 each way in a taxi to return it. What sort of chauffeur are you to take a taxi?

I understand you may be a bit annoyed that the courier didn't come but you don't have to make up an impossible story just because you feel peeved.

Take it to a store?

Your contract is with Argos so speaking to Yodel won't get you anywhere.

It's done now so there's not much you can do. Argos also won't be held liable you lost a days wages as it's not their fault you took the day off. I am assuming the item is worth less than a day's wages anyway so you're probably worse off regardless.

Just get back on to Argos and ask for a more specific collection or arrange it for your day off.

Am I the only one that thinks just because op is a chauffer doesn't mean he has a car or can use the work car for personal use.

Yes I'm a chauffeur and work for my friends company . Premier league chauffeuring it's called since you think I'm making stuff up search it if you must, would you like a picture of me too? Why on earth would I make that story up. Strange thing to say to someone you don't know. And yes it would still cost £10 to get a taxi, being a chauffeur doesn't get you cheaper taxi fares. I also don't understand what you mean by "what sort of chauffeur are you to take a taxi?"
