So my son plays golf. Long story short, due to him being on his holidays and both us parents at work we are unable to drop him off. Will he look stupid walking up to the golf club (1 mile away) with his clubs?

Honest opinions please.

No.

You need to stop worrying about other peoples opinion and teach your son to do the same.

I very much doubt it if there's a golf club nearby.
Unless he has to walk through a rough housing estate.
Then he'll have a choice of weapons. ;)

I see it all the first time where I live. But then there are 3 courses within half a mile.

I agree with this, what other people think is unimportant.

Can he not hire a locker to put to the clubs in overnight?

I was about to post the same as Captainbeavus.

You shouldn't care so much about what people think, there's nothing stupid about walking with golf clubs and anyone who would look and say otherwise is the one who is a bit stupid. People will always comment or say something but whatever they think is meaningless.

get him a taxi if it bothers you

no more stupid than walking around a golf course carrying a set of clubs Mark as best answer.

Walking to the golf club with your clubs....shameful!!!!

Couldn't one of you just take a day off for once and take him in the Bentley?

As some have rightly said - what others think is unimportant

That said he's young, he's active and it's only 1 mile - I've had to walk further to school, I've worked as a postie carrying shoulder sacks over 16kgs in weight walking an average 8 miles a day... it's extra exercise and if he's keen to play he should be keen to put some effort in - it'll be good for him

I agree, I know kids that cant do anything on their own, Town, Tesco or shop for milk. This develops into adults that cant be first at pub / prefer to be last for arrangements, need a group to feel confident. Once hes done it once he may well decide he can arrange Rounds with m8s on his own and make his own way.

Absolutely not!

OP: Seriously? oO

I once asked my son to go to the shop for me. The shop is about 50 yards away. It was 8.30pm on a Thursday. My son was in his house clothes....i.e Lonsdale trainers and Evertlast tracksuit.

Honest opinion everyone, do you think he would look stupid getting me a pint of milk in those clothes?

Personally if I were your son I would be more worried about my parents!
