What is the eBay Christmas Treasure Hunt?

Over the Christmas period, eBay is hiding hundreds of thousand of pounds worth of prizes on the site. Each day, at least one clue will be released crack the clues and you can find the treasure!

The clues will be released each day on the Christmas Treasure Hunt home page http://www.ebay.co.uk/treasurehunt ,throughout the site and also on radio and in newspapers.

How do I crack the clues?

A clue will be released each day that will lead you to the treasure. The clue will lead you to think of words to search for on eBay. Here is an example of how it will work:

Clue: Santa

Santahmmm think. North Pole.think.Elves.

Search the site using words associated with the clue until you find the winning listing. It may be hidden in a category you might not normally expect.

When you find the winning listing you will need to follow the instructions detailed in the listing. You will be advised how to end the listing and will be confirmed as the winner. You do not need to pay. eBay will confirm you are the winner by calling and or emailing you.

Safety tips

In this promotion you will not be required to pay any money.
eBay will never ask you for any personal details.

N.B. For the duration of the promotion, eBay sellers will not be allowed to include in their listings the phrase "Christmas Treasure Hunt" or or any obvious derivatives of that phrase.

yeah it does seem like quite a tough competition, i think the people who will win will be the ones who use automated searching, using a specially written computer program... or just stumble across it by chance, would take ages to search through all the listings as the site is so slow to load usually.
