Free holiday to Italy in Ryanair Mother's Day offer
Ryanair is getting ready for "the mother of all giveaways" this week, with a free Italian holiday up for grabs.

With Mother's Day on Sunday, the low-cost airline is giving away "free" (pay the taxes and charges) flights and a hotel package to Italy so that devoted sons and daughters can give their mum an extra special treat.

In order to enter, people must send a poem or story to [email protected] explaining why their mother in particular deserves a trip away. Entries must include the contact details of both the entrant and the nominated mum.

The winner will receive a weekend for two in Bergamo, Italy, and ten runners-up will receive "free" one-way Ryanair flights.

"Forget cards and flowers - win your mother a gift she'll appreciate this year," said the airline's Peter Sherrard.

Bergamo is located near Milan in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. A medieval town, it boasts many historical buildings such as the Ragione palace and the Rocca (castle).

Ryanair has major hubs at Dublin and London Stansted and flies to 22 countries around Europe.
