For anyone not wanting to view the terrible huffingtonpost site they list:
1) the name (didn't stop the Wii from being successful, or an Italian 'bulbo forato' smelling as sweet)
2) No multitasking
3) No camera (neither my TV nor my fridge don't have cameras but they do their particular jobs well)
4) No USB (their is an adapter available, unsure if it is bundled)
5) The AT&T deal (no idea what UK deals will be available)
6) No Flash (Flash and other plug-ins are ugly workarounds for limitations of the web pre-Html5)
7) Its screen (what is not lo like about an LED backlit LCD - perhaps OLED would be better but I wasn't bowled over by the Sony OLED TV, it cost a lot more and it ages badly)
8) Its price ($500 is fantastic value compared to the Nokia smartbook and most low-powered Atom netbooks)
9) Closed app store (some apps have been unfairly blocked, but in general the app-store provides security and simplicity, and the prices of apps/games is far lower than equivalents on other stores like PSN and xboxMarketplace).

I don't think the iPad is perfect but I was pleasantly surprised by the battery life, and the price the chip speed. I think the problem is that I already have a laptop, a portable media player, an 80GB iPod, an eBookReader and a PSP which cover most use cases for the iPad.

I feel ya...

I don't agree either with 1 and 3 . 5 is irrelevant depending on where you live . 6 can pass too. However the rest is pretty coherent and depicts flaws in that device trying to dominate yet another market.

I also agree with you on the battery life, that along with the multi touch function are some of the advantages of it.

Overall, the weaknesses outweigh the strengths...unfortunately and as you put it in your last sentence, we've already been given other devices that fill the gap perfectly.

Thanks for posting comp. :)

Despite all the disappointment (inevitable after such ridiculous pre-launch expectation) I have a feeling this device could actually prove more popular than people realise.

It will certainly be ideal for my parents who don't want the hassle of a full operating system like Windows, but just want a device for casual browsing and 'looking up' when in the kitchen or lounge.

You're welcome! Yeah it might be successful as it has huge potential in adverstising, Newspapers and the book industry (Amazon already felt that.loll!)

As presented last time, I think some major improvements will be needed to the current device in order for it to really recoup as an investment as far as they are concerned
