Family tickets to see `Nation' at the National Theatre
Terry Pratchett, creator of the legendary Discworld and its best-selling 37 books, has written his first non-Discworld tale in over a decade, Nation. Set on a world similar but also very different to our own, after a huge storm, Mau finds himself the last surviving member of his tribe. Daphne is the sole survivor of her ship, the Sweet Judy. Despite speaking different languages and having opposing attitudes to clothing, they must organise the refugees and handle everyday life such as delivering babies and milking pigs. There's also the small matter of cannibal raiders, mutineers and Mau's fiercely patriarchal gods. Together Mau and Daphne struggle as they create their own Nation.
