win £1,000 to spend on diamonds
New competition launches to find the UK's most in-love couple
A new survey has revealed that newly-engaged brides are more likely to post a photo of their engagement ring on Facebook before telling their best friend.
The research is part of the #BritainsGotLove campaign from TheDiamondStore.co.uk and Venture Studios - and has found that 57% of brides will take an engagement ring selfie and post it online before they tell their best friends their happy news. However, 89% admitted they would tell their parents they were engaged before sharing the news on social networks.
The study also found that British men have exchanged traditional PDAs for online equivalents, with 78% of men quizzed revealing they would happily share a couple's selfie online (Kim and Kanye-style).
However, there is a line: 60% of the men questioned said they wouldn't reply to a cutesy tweet from their other half, whilst 77% said they would never post a romantic post on their partner's Facebook wall.
Inspired by these findings, TheDiamondStore.co.uk has asked people to share their own #ourselfie, the couple's equivalent of the selfie. The winning couple - announced on Valentine's Day - will win £1,000 to spend on diamonds, so get those filters at the ready and start posing! Don't forget to use #BritainsGotLove for your chance to win - ready, set, selfie!
