We’ve teamed up with Bacs Payment Schemes, the people behind Direct Debit, to bring some extra financial cheer to three lucky Mirror readers.
We’ve got a festive fund worth £6,000 to give away to help cover the cost of Christmas.
According to the Bacs Bill Tracker, which analyses 100 million Direct Debits per month, the amount we pay for everyday essentials has risen.
The basket of basics, including energy, rent/mortgage, council tax and household insurances, has shot up by £85 during the last five years to an average of £678 each month.
Mike Hutchinson, from Bacs, said: "It’s clear that the trend is an upward one, with household budgets feeling the squeeze. That’s particularly evident at this time of year when there’s extra pressure to spend on gifts and food.
“With money tight for most people just now, we wanted to give Mirror readers a chance to add some extra pounds to their Christmas purse.”
