3-night break at the 4-star Dunvegan Guest House
As part of VisitScotland’s Autumn Moments campaign, which showcases the many ways to enjoy an autumnal break in Scotland, you and a companion are invited to indulge in a 3-night break at the 4-star Dunvegan Guest House located in the picturesque village of Brodick, Arran. Known as 'Scotland in Miniature', Arran is a condensed version of the best that Scotland has to offer, including rugged woodlands, towering mountainous peaks, coastal villages and much more.
Tee off at the picturesque Brodick Golf Club where you will enjoy a round of golf for 2 people. Among the island's 7 golf courses, Brodick holds its own with an unrivalled view down the first hole of Goatfell, Arran's highest mountain, in all its glory.
Next, embark upon a guided VIP tour of the Isle of Arran Distillery – one of the few remaining independent distilleries in Scotland, where you will learn about the process of making whisky, ‘the water of life’, with Master Distiller, James MacTaggart. You will then be welcomed to sample a wee dram from the distillery bar followed by lunch in the cafe.
Continue on your journey and uncover many more hidden delights along your way, such as local shops and eateries, and the renowned Brodick Castle. With two National Trust for Scotland passes, you will be able to explore this stunning castle built from striking red sandstone and located in the only island country park in Britain.
Round off your autumn escape and savour a delicious evening meal in one of two restaurants at Auchrannie House Hotel. Choose from the passionate and traditional cooking techniques used at the Silver EatScotland award-winning eighteen69 restaurant, where you can enjoy an exquisitely prepared meal by head chef Gregg Russell. Gregg is committed to using locally sourced produce from family owned island suppliers, such as The Island Cheese Company, from which he then converts into contemporary cuisine with a Scottish flair.
If you would rather sample mouth-watering, fresh seafood then why not try Brambles Seafood and Grill. Delight in an abundance of West Coast seafood such as their locally renowned fishcakes or devour delicious steamed Scottish mussels in melted Arran cheddar, before enjoying an evening stroll along one of the island’s idyllic beaches.
Your fantastic prize also includes car hire courtesy of Arnold Clark, £400 spending and travel money and return ferry crossing with Caledonian MacBrayne. With Glasgow Prestwick airport only a short distance from the ferry port of Ardrossan, getting to your final destination couldn’t be easier.
