Thought I'd have a bit of fun in the "Odds are" forum! I'm offering a prize, in this, the anti-deal hunt! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find the most expensive thing you can on the internet, but there are going to be one or two rules, which may be updated as I go along:

1. Must be from a UK site in £ currency
2. You must provide a direct working link in your post
3. You must write clearly in bold letters the price of the item you have found (a pic would be nice as well)
4. No eBay/online auction links allowed
5. emmajk42's decision is final!

Recommended - read through all previous posts, find the most expensive posted so far, and try to beat that target, please just don't post anything and everything you find :)

Don't worry about delivery charges, the page shown on the link you provide will be the price for this comp. The winner will be the person who finds the most expensive thing that can be purchased online outright... ie. with a credit card. (So we're not talking about houses and property - something that can be delivered to your home)

Don't take it too seriously guys, it's just a bit of fun, albeit with a little prize involved!! The winner will receive a mystery merchandise prize...!

This has ended everyone else's chance. Unless I can get away with this, I'm unsure of the total price. Bugati Veyron with all optional etraxs, from the options list, included.

im not sure if it counts tbh, as you cant actually buy it. theres no where to click to buy it. you need to send an enquiry.

think emma needs to clear this up in her rules?!
#12
I think I have got it. Pininfarina will custom build you a car and the car will cost a lot. You could get a Ferrari P4/5 built for you for £2.5 million. You will need to ring these guys to discuss exactly what you want. http://www.pininfarina.com/index/contatti

I agree about the rules

I think we should make it

a, that you can actually enter card details and buy.
b, GBP only
c, can be delivered
d, no multiple buys (20 plasma tv's) or days (i.e. renting a car for 10 years etc)

thoughts guys ?

Please advise as I've got a of boeing 757 on order and need to cancel :giggle:
#14
yeah sounds about right.
#15
I was thinking of an airbus A380 which is about $280 million USD. I'm sure it could be delivered if you were John Travolta. He owns his own airstrip/port, its part of his house. Just like getting a car delivered to your garage someone could fly the plane to his house and park it.

We need emma to reconsider the rules. But it shouldn't have to be a website where you can enter your card details because we also discuss store and telephone order deals on this website. I'm quite certain my Pininfarina
car customisation and the Bugatti Veyron are quite valid as I'm certain you must be able to pay with your credit card for both and there are plenty of companies that deliver cars, both, from inland and from abroad. The GBP only is also not a great rule. I think it should include a couple of other currencies, Euros and USD.
#17
On that basis SammyJ7 leads the charge !
#18
then my £35 million boat wins hands down........

keeping to emmas rules and making it to be able to bought with a credit card, makes it harder and stranger things to find, or else everyone would be trying to find the most expensive car, boat or plane.
#19
then my £35 million boat wins hands down........QUOTE]

Do you own a dock so that the boat may be delivered?

It depends what property you own, if John Travolta was on this forum he could almost certainly win it. I doubt anyone on here has the facilities to have a large boat or a plane delivered to them.
#20
yes i do. :p

:-D Could you, please, provide a picture of your dock.
#22
ohh yeah right, i'll give you a picture then you'll be on the first speed boat down there to pinch my new 213' mobile coastal defence system ship.

no chance sonny jim.
#23
Maybe we should make it though a "Quidco" site so we cen enjoy cash back too. 2% of $280 million might come in handy. lol

Exactly... stick to the rules as I first posted and see what you can come up with :) I'm having a busy day today, so I haven't had the chance to click through to all the links... but this will run for a few days anyway :-D

One of Posh Spice's Jewellers (Theo Fennell) has a site and you can buy online and ask for delivery !

You can have this little baby for a mere £60,000

P.S. I think we should add one rule !

Once a shop has been used once NO using it again.

I.E. Harrods and now Theo Fennel are out of bounds
#26
still comes in under mine!!

Tickets to go somewhere arnt exactly a delivery in fairness.

When Emma gets a chance she can go over the rules

You can book a Virgin "Space flight" for about £165,000 but i was under the impression the actual goods have to be delivered.
#28
it adds £1.45 for delivery! LOL and you can add it to your basket and check-out.

i looked for the virgin one but it doesnt let you buy it, you have to enquire again and they phone you.

good spot with the necklace thingy, i looked for jewelery, quite hard to find expensive stuff.
#31
Has it been agreed that you have be able to go through the entire purchasing process online?
#32
Here is the winner:thumbsup:
A cherished numberplate 'X1'
Can be bought online for £5,000,001, with a credit card, plus £25 for 'acrylic plates' option I reckon:thumbsup:

http://www.newreg.co.uk/home/search/search_results/results-sidebar/w/newSearch/none/none/X/1/index.html

When I got to the payment page, total to pay is £5,875,106.18 because it was exc.VAT and transfer fee. Wide no. of cards accepted as payment. Visa Delta, Visa Debit, Solo, Switch, Visa, Mastercard, American Express. So should have no trouble paying for it.

And I've been to the payment screen and confirmed that those cards, that I listed, can be used and all done online. That is an expensive online purchase.
#35
Sorry I haven't been around to comment more, but I'm organising a charity pub quiz for breast cancer this evening, so I won't be online.

I'll let you all thrash this out between yourselves in the meantime :)
#36
Well, I'm gonna have a break. Took me a while to think of what online purchase could cost more than that overpriced toy car from Harrads.
#37
Tell me about it I'm exhausted.

Well done everyone ... still a bit cheap for my taste though (hehe) :p

Keep em coming! :-D
