Win a pair of tickets to see How The Other Half Loves at The Lowry!
My Answer - Alan Ayckbourn
JLife are giving one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets to see How The Other Half Loves at The Lowry on 11th September.
How The Other Half Loves, a perceptive comedy about marriage and class, written by Olivier and Tony Award-winning playwright Alan Ayckbourn, lands at The Lowry theatre from 11th to 16th September. Following its critically acclaimed West End revival, this hilarious tale of matrimonial mishaps features an all-star cast.
The play follows three couples: Frank and Fiona Foster; Bob and Teresa Phillips and William and Mary Featherstone. Bob and Fiona clumsily try to cover up their affair and their spouses’ intervention only adds to the confusion. William and Mary Featherstone become hopelessly stuck in the middle, falsely accused of adultery and with no idea as to how they’ve become involved. The plot culminates in two disastrous dinner parties on successive nights, shown at the same time, after which the future of all three couples seems in jeopardy.
The talented cast includes leading stage and TV actor Robert Daws, best known for his role in ITV’s 1960s medical drama The Royal, and Matthew Cottle from the BAFTA-nominated TV show Game On. Sara Crowe, who is perhaps best-loved for her role in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Charlie Brooks, who became everyone’s favourite villain as Janine Butcher in EastEnders, and Leon Ockenden who currently plays Will in Coronation Street, also star.
