Bird food Deal of the Month
In early Autumn we are often asked the question: “Where have my birds gone?”
It's nothing to worry about, our birds are simply following their natural instincts and so this absence is to expected. The two main reasons are as follows…
The end of summer is a time of plenty, with hedgerows and trees packed with fruit, nuts and berries, and insect life hitting its peak. Our birds are, for a short period, spoilt for choice! They do not need to fly as far in their search for food and bird visits to garden feeders drop accordingly.
The other reason is their annual ‘moult’. Dishevelled feathers need to be replaced, but as they are essential to fly, birds only release a few at a time over a longer period. Through this phase, unsurprisingly, they feel vulnerable, and prefer to remain under cover, in trees and bushes, and out of sight of threats and potential predators.
The prize consists of our September Deal of the Month:
• Ark No Mess Feeder Mix 8kg
• Ark Robin Friendly Premium 8kg
• Peanut Granules 4kg
• Ark Insect Suet Titbits 1kg
What process does a bird go through to renew its feathers?
