I have 2 laptops, one which I am on, and my old one, which kind of broke on me, the bit I plugged the charger into snapped and a computer friend fixed it for me by using something to stick it back on, however, i pulled the plug and stopped using it as it began to melt and smoke appeared. Got a copy of Ubuntu 8.04 through the door this morning, and decided to have a go at installing it.
Installation went fine, but when i tried to use it , it restarted my pc.
I got to the point where it has the word Ubuntu , and the load bar underneath.
