I was going to order this today. Does anyone know if its worth getting the 'Truelife' display for an extra £11? Would it enhance the quality of dvds?

Better off spending the extra £23.50 on a 9 cell battery.
The 4 cell one will last a boot up and nothing else!

That would make it £410.08
Probably better off going for the Dell Inspiron 6400 instead for £398.98

The 6400 is a viable alternative, but not this configuration which only has 1GB RAM and the T2080 processor. Much better with the N09643 spec. However, the 6400 is one of the models with long delivery delays at the moment.

If you do decide to go for the Vostro then I suggest upgrading the screen to Truelife. The battery upgrade might also make sense if you are going to use the machine off the mains a lot.

I've got the Vostro 1500. Looks wise it's not the best, but build quality is great. I think the range have increased in price again. Voted hot.

tru-life is worth the extra £11. it does make DVD's look a bit more "glossy." I personally would take the upgrade.

Like others I agree that the battery needs upgrading if you can't take the plug with you!

medium deal imo, can get a better spec inspiron for 100quid more and you can customise them with carbon fibre and different colours etc. bigger hard drive, better processor, 9-cell battery, true-life screen, customised cover, 256mb graphics, for around 480
