EXPIRED - Samsung SM226BW 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - £199.99 @ eBuyer

£199.99

196°

FOUND BY: mattythomo 1 year, 8 months ago

Quite like the look of this Samsung SM226BW. The specs seem pretty good, and it's won some awards too (PC Advisor etc).

- Viewable Area: 22" Wide
- Resolution: 1680 x 1050
- Colours: 16.7 Million (8-Bit)
- Brightness: 300cd/m2
- Contrast Ratio: 3000:1
- Viewing Angle: 160/160
- Response Time: 2ms
- Inputs: 15pin D-Sub, DVI-D

This was previously priced at £209.99 (same as Amazon) but they've knocked a tenner off. Knowing eBuyer though the price could go back up at any time so be quick. There were 45 left when I 1st saw the deal 5 mins ago...

Cheers,
Matt

p.s. This is my 1st deal so go easy on me!

Just clicked on the link to check I got the URL right and the monitor was showing back as £209.99. Then clicked the link again and it showed up as £199.99 again!

Not sure what's going on but I suggest you try the link a few times or refresh the page on eBuyer as it seems to change randomly!

I have the 20" version of this monitor (206bw) and it is absolutely fantastic. A little bit of white at the top of the monitor when it is meant to be black, but apart from that no complaints. Very easy to switch back and forth from VGA/DVI which is great if you use your 360 on it (which by the way looks immense). No ghosting at all when playing games like Counterstrike:Source. If you upgrade from a bog standard 17" you will never go back. £199 is very good price, considering my 20" cost me £179 in July from ebuyer.

I own this monitor. Some reviews complained about different panels used. I can honestly say I have owned this for 2 months and the display is stunning. I cannot identify the type of panel. But as mine is so new I suspect it it was of the "other" type reviewers discussed. But no complaints here and I have a critical eye!

agree..I didn't bother trying to find out what panel is on mine as I knew it would cloud my vision!!....I'm very happy and would highly recommend this monitor at £200..a bargain.

the reason why it is dropping in price is they are releasing a Wide Color Gamut version of the display 226CW. basically this means better colour reproduction. Dell is doing the same for its 24" display and off loading the them with discounts when you buy a desktop top from them. The high colour or wide colour gamut version of the 24" dell sells for a premium.

I did had the 206BW and it also suffered from alot of backlight bleed (the "little bit of white" that you refer to).

Another option is the Dell E228WFP, same size and similar specs, currently 20% off at £199.20. Suppose it's just which company you prefer!

Ahhhh yes i'm sure there was a technical term for it. I guess I have a different panel to the one you had. The only time it is noticeable is when a level is loading on CS:S. When watching movies, tv etc it's either so little or non-existant that I have never ever noticed it.
