This deal was originally posted by arious last August and recently expired, but it looks as though these mega cheap fares are back - but not including 17th Dec - 5th January period. Looks as though they expire on 11th January.

You need to print the tickets on your home printer and travel with the card you pay with and on the specified train.

The Euston one doesn't. I think part of the offer is you get on and off at the specified stations anyway unfortunately.

I really like Manchester myself, had several weekends there this year. I'm usually going from Glasgow though so haven't been able to take up this offer yet.

why would any1 go to london. manchester is a lovely city excellent man u of course. great bars cafes resturants theatres lots of shopping not over run like london.

The tickets are valid both North and South bound..... the idea of the post was to provide cheap travel for those who want it.....

The Virgin train service is mostly direct, with a maximum of three short stops en-route. Manchester - Euston in 2hrs 12 mins beats the hell out of driving....

You can buy Virgin Value Advance for travel at weekends which start @ £12.50 each way - which is still good value...... but the big drawback for me is that on Sat / Sun Virgin don't operate the "fast" trains..... The trains themselves are obviously the same ones used Mon - Fri but are painfully slow @ almost 4 hours each way (see the published journey times)...... so if journey time is an issue - avoid the weekend.

The cheapest available as for now are £3 and other fares range up to £9 one way, still great deal - voted hot
