Its well within kids r5ights to stop the sound, by walking away from it, new idea i know but it works for them.

could do with these in parts of London right now

Cold for me.
Why move the problem elsewhere.
"Love thy neighbour!" ie the next street or further up your street.
Children are the future.
Better to shut the schools down.

How observant of you. I do hope you don't become personally impacted by the needless violence.

I am 21 and I can hear it and so can MANY other people that are not loitering... I can understand why you may get them but your a D*** if your neighbours are young, I live near or you get one at all.

Also people will then stand outside your house to prove a point... I kinda hope they would as I think these are awful creations its like me coming along and yelling in your ear as i dont like you in my bit of the street

What they need is Senior Police officers with a spine who will beat the living s*** out of these vile, lazy scumbags...they should be shot on sight. Atip for the brave Met officers Policing them...if you really want to scare this section of the community just offer them a job.

I'd love to see someone spend a fortune on these, then for someone to come along and smash it to bits.

Agreed. There was a time when a police officer would enter the room, and everybody would shut up and reign it in, or get clouted over the head with a truncheon. It's now getting to the point where the rights brigades won't allow then to even raise their voice. "Excuse me. You are currently in violation of one or two laws. Would you mind moving along, please?" Absolute joke.

In saying that, this device is not a solution, as it's not as selective as the media would have you believe, and you could potentially drive neighbours into moving if they are able to hear it.

I'm 26 i can hear it, the thing is annoying but it wouldn't make me move.. listening to tinny music from mobile phones is far more annoying.

Surely better for the police to deploy tear gas , water cannons and baton rounds.

It would obviously be preferable if a fair number of the baton rounds end up being fatal ?

would have thought a phone call to environmental health would help get rid of these if you have kids or can hear em.

ah yes how common is it for a baby to say:
"just a moment mother, there is a high pitched sound causing me much distress emanating from over yonder, bear with me whilst i exercise my human rights to jog on"

Human rights - pah! These people aren't human - 'feral rats' as one TV interviewee victim put it so well - abdicated their rights the moment they stepped out of line. Governments (of all persuasions) are afraid to do what 99% of the population know is right and fair. Even Cameron's lot are afraid of their shadows with the wishy-washy liberals looking over their shoulders these days.

We've spent a fortune on CCTV cameras, now's the time to use the evidence, but in parts of Brum they were all taken down and an apology offered because of local citizens' complaints about infringing their liberties - in an area which breeds terrorism! You couldn't invent this stuff could you?

Let's just wait for a few to be hauled up in court and given a community sentence.

I would say that was tit for tat. As much as I like infants, (I used to be one) there squeals go right through me.

I think there should be something to deter Old people... oh wait there is - loud music X) (Joke before anyone gets offended)

I personally hate these things, and i do not "loiter" (So voting cold). In fact it is just one of the many reasons why i hardly ever go into the town center during the day. It affects anyone at a young age including those there for legitimate reasons, so if they are trying to deter people my age (early 20's - theyre doing a great job, and loosing custom at the same time!)

Actually thinking about it flying a helicopter down narrow streets in a built up area is ridiculous, this would be far more practical :-

Good target for a cricket/baseball bat. Theres only one thing you need if you have people harrasing you - The Phone to dial the police!

IMO if there are things like this for youngsters, there should be other devices as well. For example: one to deter mothers with prams - who block entrances while talking to their friend (who also has a pram) about their favourite soap

Also one for old women who stand near door entrances blocking it while they discuss how ignorant youths of today are and walk at a pace of one mile per day!

Sorry to get so narked up... but its not just youths who cause problems for people.

Even with CCTV evidence, there's often nothing the police can do because a lot of crimes are committed by hoodrats, and their faces are concealed.
