New deal giving the longest fee free balance transfer within the market - 0% for 28% months and no balance transfer fee. I will be making use of this and shifting a credit card balance.

Previous best deal was Halifax 0% for up to 26 months with no fee. Sainsbury's deal is better in my opinion, not only because of the additional 2 months difference but is not up to e.g. if they accept you they will give you the full 0% for 28 months.

*After they refund your 1.5% balance transfer fee which they say they will in the first 60 days.

Nice find Chanchi.

This is a good deal... I've just set my Mum up with a 26 month Halifax card, free transfer but also £21 TCB. That hasn't tracked yet mind, but I'm hopeful (_;)

I'd personally rather have the extra 2 months than £21 anyway, heated OP!

Be interesting to see what sort of credit limits they are giving out.

Just did an application and initially offered £9,000 subject to further checks etc... Not quite the £15,000 with Natwest currently.

A £9,000 offer would appear to be a good sign, in my experience its difficult to get over £7,000 if they are just looking for a tag line rate to attract customers

Confused

Card that the Link takes you to says:

Representative 18.9% APR (variable)
0% p.a. for 18 months on balance transfers, fee applies
0% p.a. for 29 months on all purchases

the deal is for balance transfers with no fee

If you want a card for 0% purchases you would be better off going with the halifax deal

Nice one. They offered me £9000 limit. My mbna 0% deal doesn't expire until April, but I may as well get this now rather than risk getting rejected in two months as I'm about to move house. Thanks very much <3

They have given me a limit of £12,000 but I entered £11,500 to transfer from other cards on the application form.

Anyone else finding the 'Finish' button at the end and/or link to sign up to online banking is fairly broken?

I can't see why not, unless there are weird debt rules in place. Replacing one debt with another is fairly commonplace?

I have no clue about these types of credit cards could someone explain what the advantage of them is? Like could I pay off my £5000 car finance with this card? Apologies for being clueless

The advantage of this is it charges 0% interest on balance transfers for a fair period (28 months). This means it's good if you have existing debt on another credit card (that you're no doubt paying some interest on) as you can transfer it and suddenly be paying no interest for 28 months. You will have to make the minimum card payment each month to avoid any interest. Cards like this normally charge you a small-ish percent of the balance you wish to transfer as a fee. This card is also good here, as although they charge 1.5% upfront of the balance you wish to transfer they will refund it within 60 days - so effectively free.

Alternatively you might be coming to the end of promotional period for an interest free purchase card. If you shift the balance to this card you're essentially getting another 28 months interest free where you can just make the minimum payment each month.

Whilst this type of card might be a real life line for those facing high interest rates (or any interest to be honest) on their current cards, others may use it to shift debt for longer whilst earning interest in a savings account on the funds they already have in place to pay the card off in 28 months time.

Sorry if it's already been stated and I've missed it but does this card offer 0% on further purchases too for 28months? Or is it just the balance transfer that's 0%?
