free delivery too!

Can only see £19.99 here

As a note to this, if you are buying for the benefit of free unlimited WiFi. Check the hotspot is listed on O2 site as not all BT WiFi hotspots are registered to work with these O2 dongles. Even if they show up as connected in the O2 Connection Manager. I returned mine for this reason.

need to go --> shop ---> under broadband and home phone (left column) go to mobile broadband pay monthly. Then select 1 month (other option is 18 months).

Hope this helps

Oh yes i see sorry i was looking under PAYG.

Is this a 1 month rolling contract?
Remember 3 offering me something like this but had to give 30 days notice to cancel.
#7
could well be a rolling contract, well spotted!

As when you pay it must be setting up a direct debit. Best to call them up i suppose. o2 are usually quite good and arent out to screw you over

The Wifi will use your built in Wifi on your Laptop not the dongle, so can you make clear what you are on about?

It's not just Hardware but also Software - ie the o2 CONNECTION MANAGER software which is required to register your o2 mobile BB a/c with the WiFi WLAN (instead of the Con Mgr sw with the phone USB dongle) - it "gracefully" manages the connection as appropriate - or not as the original poster reported with SOME WiFi spots apparently.

So you might need to give 30 days notice so end up having a 2 month minimum?? Still not too bad if you pay £20 but sell the dongle for a tenner. But doesn't everyone have a drawer full of these dongles! I must have 2 for every network, lol!

Just rang o2 and they said you need to give 30 days notice!!!

Pretty slimy, considering i thought they were the good guys.

However the chap offered me a dongle for £9.99

£2 per day
£7.50 per week (1GB)
£15 per month (3GB)

and what i didnt use would roll over to next months, with what he says unexpiring credit as long as it was active.

Also free to access btopenzone (i dont know if you can do this with any dongle? - please help, as if i had btopenzone in the area it means free internet for £9.99 no contract, one of payment etc)

The BTOpenZone access is provided by the o2 Connection Manager and that only permits the WiFi usage IF your o2 MOBILE broadband subscription is still active - ie while the WiFi usage isn't counted towards your (mobile broadband) data usage allowance, it is only valid WHILE you have that data usage allowance active - ie are subscribing. The same applies to the PAYG dongle where you can top up ie buy 1/7/30 days usage when you wish.

How would you monitor usage here, and what would happen if you go over the quota?

Anyone know if this dongle works with the AA1 running Linux?!

Not with o2, I guess I'll scour their website and see what it says and look on the Acer forums.

Cheers.
