A lot of monitors do not have speakers so dvi is redundent

Er....you can't connect a HDMI digital output from an Xbox or PS3 to an analogue VGA monitor without some kind of converter box inbetween - there is no way this cable could work!

There is a similar one listed on Amazon here - look at the feedback!
