Ok, popped to Sainsburys and noticed that quite a few of the ingredients for one of my favorite meals are on offer so thought I would share the whole recipe! Although this isnt a cheap dinner overall its certainly cheaper than if the ingredients were not on offer

Linguine with tomato & mascapone with Seafood
------------------------------

De Cecco linguine Pasta (HALF PRICE) Now 74p pack
Napoliona Tomato & Mascapone Sauce (HALF PRICE) Now 87p pack
Sainsbury taste the difference King Prawns (HALF PRICE) Now £2.99 pack
sainsburys tinned crab - £2.09 (not on offer! Boo)
Black Pepper to taste
mixed dried italian herbs to taste

****Substitutions**** the good thing about this recipe it doesnt require you to measure everything out and also you can substitute the seafood - for example if regular prawns or mixed seafood was on offer you could swap it out, whatever matches your budget and taste. Likewise if you already have spaghetti in the cupboard use that.

Instructions
Cook the pasta as per instructions and drain
Warm the tomato and mascapone sauce in a medium sized pan, add the seafood and heat through to ensure all is piping hot - around 5 mins
Stir in cooked linguine - add cracked black pepper & garnish with italian herbs

Serve!

(As an optional extra you may want to stir in extra mascapone or even philidelphia during the cooking stage for extra creaminess but extra calories)

This would easily feed 4 greedy people but also makes a yummy side to a pieces of grilled salmon and crusty bread

I opened the thread with great interest.........
Recipe?

I wouldn't call it a recipe when it consists of opening a pre-prepared sauce onto some pasta! :-(

I guess you could make the pasta from scratch and the sauce too but not sure how that would work out value for money compared to the price it can be bought for, although no doubt fresh pasta and sauce would be yummy.

ooooohhhhhh forgot about garlic bread dammmmnnn thats fine with this tooo

Yummy, had something v similar last night for dinner.
I like this dish made with the Sacla tomato and mascapone sauce, which is on 1/3 off at Sainsburys at the mo. I cook the prawns with some chilli flakes and also add the zest and juice of a lime, and some wild rocket.

I am having this tonight and have chilli flakes so i will add those in, never even though about it and I love rocket. Thanks for the tip!

Just to point out .... crab sticks (or seafood sticks / krab sticks) do not actually contain any crab ! :)

I have edited the header to read meal instead of recipe just in case in future any more food snobs stumble upon it and decide to be an ahole and criticize the lack of complex ingredients ...... the very ingredients that are on offer and that’s why I took the time to submit if for others to share because I wanted to be helpful.

Isnt it nice when everyone is so giving and supportive!

Ah I see.
You can't cook, you don't even know that warming up pre-prepared food is not cooking, and that in some way is my fault; and the way you deal with your inadequacy in this respect it is by making a personal attack.

Glad we are all clear on that now.

I am actually a very good cook but I dont always have time to prepare everything from scratch and like lots of people rely on things like this - I don't see this a weakness, in fact its just good home management.

I am however gracious enough to ignore you from now on as I am aware that for some people being a bully is fun, I guess I was just raised better, perhaps my mother should have spent more time teaching me to cook more meals from scratch than on raising me with manners and a good moral compass.
