i would go for the F3 version (153WI). i dont really know the difference, but i would go for the F3 over the F2. ive heard good things about the standard F3 so i imagine the F3 eco green is equally as good :)! just google some reviews, or go for the best warranty or sumin

Almost as good as the £46 1.5TB F2 deal from last month

You would go for the f3 version yet you dont know the difference!

I would go for the f2 154ui as it has 3 platters whereas the f3 has 4 platters which means the f3 will have slower access times, bit louder, gets a bit warmer.

Either drive is good for storing data.

meh et it back down to £46

£52.57 for me :/

WOW! Heat added.. it's amazing how the price of storage keeps plummeting.

Specs from US website

135WI

154UI

Looks like 154UI is better buffer transfer and slightly faster but also draws slightly more power

thanks netjock, they're a bit coy on the newer one hmm... do you know if they are both 3 platter?

edit: if this thread is right, the F2 is 3 and the F3 is 4 platter, making the older F2 the better drive!

I know in the old days, the more platters the faster the overall data transfer rate.
Instead of slow seeking to another track, just switching heads to another surface was a lot faster.

i always go for less because fewer heads = less chance of one crashing.
anyway this has probably expired now so i'll see what next comes around, not in a hurry..
