    Can someone please confirm / explain the following to me in simpleton terms please as I'm umming and ahhing about this: -
    1. Why is this being voted so cold?
    2. If I sign up for the one month trial today, as long as I cancel on or before April 19th i won't be charged?

    This says to me that you can cancel within 28 days. Why are people so confused??

    This is exactly what I though so I don't understand a) why it's been voted so cold and b) why people are saying that you have to give 31 days to cancel. Personally I would have thought that the 31 days relate to the notice required to cancel a package that you have actually fully subscribed to and not a free trial which this is.

    Because there is 2x terms and conditions at same time

    First saying:

    One month free Movies Pack offer

After the offer period you will continue to receive Sky Movies 1 & 2 as part of your Sky TV subscription. 31 days notice required to downgrade. Offer only available to Sky TV customers without Sky Movies 1 or 2. Sky Movies 1 & 2 costs £16 extra a month, but may be lower depending on your subscription package. Not available in conjunction with any other offer. Only one offer per household. Channels/programmes & prices subject to change. UK residential customers only. Correct at 23 May 2011.

    Second terms :

    The only terms I saw when upgrading my account for the free trial was the 28 day one, so not confusing to me. If sky have a problem then I can just point them to their 28 day terms :)

    Right where do I start........

    I have the entertainmnet package and pay £21/mth, went on line and took advantage of the free movies for a month. Rang to give my notice to cancel movies, they offered;
    25% discount on movies for 6mths - NO THANKS
    50% discount on movies for 6mths - NO THANKS
    They then decided that because i was adding a package and then removing it, my price freeze which I had on my account of £5.50 would no longer apply so at the end of the 'free' month my charge for the entertainment package would go upto £26.50 so I have given notice to cancel sky completely. WHAT A JOKE SKY ARE!!!!! At the end the lady did apologise and said they were disappointed to lose me after 13 years 9 months arrrrrrrrgh This took a 35 minute phone call!

    Persist with cancellation - after a week or so they will call back to make you an offer.

    I cancelled the HD option a couple of months back - they didn't sway me with offers - before notice period ended they called me (a special retentions team most likely) and let me have HD option for £2.50/month instead of £10/month for the next 12 months.

    They really don't want to lose customers - but I don't think the standard sales teams have the power to give the best retention offers to customers who insist on cancelling.
