Renew your xbox live GOLD membership and pay only £1 for a months worth of live

Only unitl the 3rd of July

How to Renew for this price:

Simply go to the Xbox Dashboard and select the offer in the Spotlight section (you cant miss it because it is also shows the advertisment for the COD maps)
'Add payment option' if you have never remewed before or just simply click pay!

Alternativly just go to the xbox live payment section

Note: NOT card form as image suggest; electronic only. That is just for illustration purposes

Enjoy!

Edit: Alot of people are complaining "They will automatically deduct the normal monthly fee once this offer expires...WRONG! Go to the Xbox website and you can turn off Automatic Renewal for AFTER the 3rd of July"

Hot.

:)

Will microsoft renew your membership automatically afterwards at higher cost?
#4
Be aware that I think you still have to phone them in order to cancel the renewal next month, which you probably will since the monthly price is much higher than a yearly card.
#5
hhmm i dont have that in my Spotlight section :(
I have: Now in store, XboxLiveArcade House Party, SkyPlayer, Splinter Cell:Conviction, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening and New to Avatar Marketplace :-/

I saw this on the dashboard last night and payed the quid, and got a month added onto my live subscription.....I didnt realise it was a rolling monthly thing that you had to call and cancel? It just said "£1 for a month of gold subscription"??

YES THEY WILL!

This is more trouble than it's worth. You can't just unsubscribe easily you have to actually phone microsoft and sort it all out on the phone.

Avoid if I were you.
#8
This is a good deal, but give M$ your credit card number at your peril - you will never be able to remove it from the account no matter what you do! No good to me at the mo, waitng for my console to come back after 2nd RROD in 3 years :-(
#9
You have to call up and cancel or you will be charged full price on a monthly basis! Took up this offer when it was on last year as well.
#10
A Trojan horse to get your credit card details on file for renewal. My credit card expired on Live 3 years ago. I've not added another one since.
#11
just login to xbox.com and u cn remove ur card details dere

yeah that's exactly why they have these offers, to get your card details and then people forget to automatically cancel.

cold from me

WRONG!

You can't remove your primary card.

This payment option cannot be removed at this time. Go to the Payment method information page to view services associated with this payment option.

Which then takes you to a dead page.
#14
Pre-paid CC perhaps?
#15
I think this is an exclusive for if your subscription is about to expire. I got this message in January at the end of my first live subscription period (the free month) - but opted to just go for a £25 code instead.
#16
Cold.......................................
#17
Avoid this at all costs your cc will be on file long after you are dead
and its very hard to stop them billing you next month

if you report the card lost or cancel it they disable your xbox account

I love xbox live and im paid up until 2012 but dont trust them with a cc
for one second

Actually you can easily cancel auto-renew on the xbox live website. Just login to your gamertag and then go to the subscription section and cancel it. Takes about 2minutes to do
#19
Tempting. Wonder if I kept adding prepaid 12 month subscriptions to my account, whether they'd ever take a monthly payment from my credit card.

Been a member of Xbox Live since 2003 and mine's paid up till 2012.

I did find it amusing that MS said it wouldn't let me remove the credit card they have on file, even though it expired in 2008!
#20
u can turn off auto renewal thats always worked for me straight from my xbox....

come on guys dont make it sound harder than it is.
#21
you can cancel it on the internet easily ive done it plenty of times you just need to know where to go on the xbox.com website.

HOT HOT :)
#22
Thanks OP. CC is easily cancelled from xbox.com. Voted hot from me.

Ok so I've just tried to do this and can't find it anywhere. Mind sharing where you need to go on the xbox.com website to do this?

I'm on month to month and have a 3month live card that came with my sky player entertainment pack. If I redeem the code will it automatically switch back to month to month after the 3 months or will it just stop my live gold subscription?

why would you pay £60 for 12 months when you can get 13 months for 26 if you look around
#25
I used to be on a £26/year jobby but when my sub run out I just put month to month on for quickness but then never got round to changing it...

I just entered my code though and renewal has changed to off so hopefully that's that sorted now :)
#26
So cancelling an on-going credit card payment is either really hard or really easy. Don't you just love the internet?

Could those that have found it simple please say exactly how they did it, so that the people saying it's a nightmare could give it a try. That way we might get to some sort of agreement. As someone who's considering this deal, the advice in this thread isn't helpful - I've got no way to judge who's right.

1 . xbox.com and sign into your account

2. at the top of the page, clikc the marketplace link

3. Click "Account summary"

4. click "Turn automatic renewal on to get the most out of LIVE"

In your case this will most likely say turn auto renewal off. obviously i have it turned off so any problems give me a message

ONLY the 2nd in three years? I'm on my 5th Xbox!

I STILL wouldn't go for anything else, though.

last time this offer was on i used it for a month, the day after starting it rang and got the auto renewal cancelled.am now on a year subscription, and just checked and my credit card details arent kept in my account.pretty sure all i did was give them a quick ring to a FREEPHONE number to get them removed.
some people might see this all as a waste of time, but if you've got time on your hands this saves you money for a small amount of hassle
#32
i did this but i also have a 13 month xbox live i bought which i havent opened yet. will they not take any money out if i use this card before the month is out

First saw this about a month ago and it's been on and off the dashboard since.

Didn't interest me cos there's bound to be a catch where Microsoft are concerned.

cool, must check this out later

I'm only on my second since launch 2005, luckily it was covered by the extended MS warranty

I haven't turned it on since Jan, I wish there was a way to take an account holiday like Lovefilm

Credit and debit cards expire after 3 years, then you get a new one, with a different number......

OK, to cancel auto renewal you go to xbox.com/en and log in, go to your account settings and renewals and billing section and you can cancel very easily from there, in fact you can buy his log on straight afterwards and cancel the same day and still get your month for a quid!
