I maybe a cheapskate, but you couldn't pay me enough to take a long overnight journey on a bus.

But how was the bus?

It had wheels that went round and round

i was on a bus from london to stamford, (3 hours) it was hell. tired, smelly, hot, cramped.

I got the megabus from London to Dundee once.

And guess what, it broke down. Twice. Might have been the most unlucky bus ride I've had (I take buses whenever I can).

Aside from that, the bus was cramped and uncomfortable to sleep in, I guess it should only be a choice if you're really skint (and hours and hours and hours of time to travel).

I'd always choose National Express over Megabus.

It's hit or miss. The first time i used megabus was in a really nice bus, it was more like a coach inside tbh, and loads of empty seats so i was able to stretch out. The second time is was an actualy bus, extremely cramped, hot stuffy, there was a pungent smell of b.o, noisy, just really really uncomfortable, and it was from london to manchester too. -_-

The journey from Manchester to London is about an hour faster than the National Express.

Took the Megabus from Aberdeen down to Sheffield - about 9 hours. 2/3 transfers if I recall correctly - make sure you ask if you have to transfer when you're getting on, I don't think it was mentioned anywhere on the ticket. It made me worried about sleeping on the bus though (it was an overnight journey) because I didn't want to miss the transfer and end up who knows where.

Actual bus ride was decent. Just hope to God that you don't have to use the bathroom :P Otherwise it was okay for most of the ride - abit crammed if the bus is full but it wasn't really most of the time.

For the journey back I managed to get one of the seats near the door and it had about double the leg space. Made the journey much more pleasant so try go for that if you see it :)

Mega bus is unique horrible adventure, ideal short one.
took me 5h to get to Brighton, while Ago,never travelled with them again, even they offered me another journey free.

You've got to be some kind of glutton for punishment to do London - Glasgow by any coach, leave alone Megabus!!

The only offers they have that I'd even consider are the Megatrain journeys!!

Done London-Inverness a couple of times for £2.50 return during the daytime. Didn't mind it really, mind I have travelled on Indian buses without suspension for 40 hours at a time before!
