Following on the thread from 'sbfc' regarding the Camping holiday, if tents aren't your thing you can actually get Apartments in the same region for cheaper. Same flights as mentioned in other thread - details below:

Fly with Ryanair from Luton (other airports are available at the same price just check) 11th May - Girona
Fly home 18th May

Total cost for 2 adults and 2 children = £48 (to get this price you will need to take hand luggage only and use the prepay card to pay)

Accomodation through TravelRepublic.co.uk (used them personally on numerous occasions and always had good service and great reliability). The Apartments below are just an example and a few cheaper ones available or more expensive if you wish. The reviews for the Apartments mentioned are not too bad considering the price (however, you can't please all the people all the time)

Miami Park Apartments in Calella -3 Star- 1 Week Stay - 11/05/2011 - 18/05/2011 on a Self Catering basis works out at £17 PP (for a full week, not per night) giving a total of £68.

As mentioned, plenty other apartments available in other resorts at similar prices.

Therefore total cost is £48 + £68 = £116 for a family of 4 therefore £29 per person for a weeks holiday.

Agreed, this is with Hand Luggage only but if my wife can manage a weeks holiday limited to 10kg then anyone can - we recently purchased a couple of cases from Argos which are ideal size and conforms with Ryanair restrictions and you can pack a fair amount in. The ones we bought are listed below - don't think these ones are still available for the £5 we got them at but gives you an example of the size of case which can count as Hand Luggage.

Hope this helps some not keen on Camping.

Probably best just going to main site and putting in the search criteria to get exact results

Try this link and hopefully it will take you direct to the Apartment page with price shown (as deals change frequently then url address might not work) therefore can always go direct to TravelRepublic.co.uk and select Hotels and Apartments, Destination - Costa Brava - 11/05/11-18/05/11 - 2 adults and 2 children and then search. When results come back, sort them into order of Cheapest first and these apartments are about 4th cheapest.

OK - Hopefully sorted. If you click the above link it will perform the search for you. Just go to 'Sort By' on the right hand side of the page and select (Price:Lowest First).

You can book transfers directly through TravelRepublic as well (on the 'Extras' part of their site). Think they contract it out to a2btransfers - strangely, it usually works out cheaper doing it through TravelRepublic rather than going straight through a2b.

Im definitely not working class and I have holidayed in Spain.

Oh and Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, New Orleans, Las Vegas, LA, San Francisco, Bahamas, Key West, Toronto, Cyprus, Tenerife, Paris, Italian/Swiss Alps, Mexico, Bulgaria, Munich and a whole host of other places around the world. Age - 27

So i think your reply is a little off there. Id like to see a working class holiday in Marbella.

On another note having worked at an airport for 5 years the most popular destination for "working class" is actually Turkey at the minute

Resort hoppa are who we always use for transfers - very reliable and cheap!

dsuk obviously has deep-seated issues regarding "class". I'd hazard a guess he's from working class parents and trying to prove he is "above them" or middle class parents and struggles to live up to their expectations....

As you work in an airport, unless you're a pilot I would say you're definitely working class! And you definitely need to work on deflating that ego to manageable proportions otherwise you aint gonna be flying anywhere - there won't be a plane big enough for your head. (_;)

Not sure if the proposed forthcoming strike dates.....Spanish airports/airspace etc throughout Easter & Summer period may have some effect on certain dates....it is possible.....choose your dates wisely as it would be awful spending holiday time stranded at the airport!
Not sure about the exact proposed dates...perhaps somebody in the know could post them...thanks

You can try FairFx. It does not give you the protection you would get from a Credit Card though...

Thought it would have been hotter myself given the the Camping holiday is almost double the temperature but that is for a tent rather than an apartment. Also, that thread was £41 pp but forgot to include the extras that you need to book such as linens and towels which took total to about £50pp which is almost double the price of this deal. Each to their own I suppose.

Might not suit everyone but we got a Euro Prepaid Card from Thomas Cook/Going Places a few years ago - you can top it up anytime you wish so we just put extra on when the exchange rate is really good rather than waiting until just before we go when you are stuck at whatever that days rate is.

It means we can use this card to book flights through Ryanair/Easyjet etc without having to pay any extra charges - another way of saving a few quid is book the outward and return flights seperately because the return flight is priced in Euros rather than Pounds but is the same price (eg, £40 is 40 euros therefore probably equates to £35 depending on exchange rate at the time). You can also use the card as a normal Mastercard when in Europe at Restaurants, Shops etc without any charges.

Each to their own but if you have nothing constructive or positive to add, it is sometimes best to say nothing at all.

"I define my own class" - comments show a distinct lack of class (perhaps this is what you meant).

He meant Porsche.
For the record im proud to be working class and I have no aspiration to be anything else. I know that middle class, upper class, and aristocratic class have far more problems than working class people.

And not all working class people are the idiots that give Brits a bad name being sick in the street or throwing bottles at people. In fact I would say an equal amount of our bad reputation comes from the behaviour of middle class students or snobby middle class 40 some things complaining that the tables aren't clean.

Anyway this is a great deal if you meet all the criteria. And by googleing costa brava looks pretty nice.
