From Roland Emmerich, director of Independance Day and The Day After Tomorrow comes 10,000 BC, a sweeping odyssey into a mythical age of prophesies and gods, when spirits rule the land and mighty mammoths shake the earth.

In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter D'Leh (Steven Strait) has found his heart's passion - the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle). But when a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D'Leh leads a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. As they venture into unknown lands for the first time, the group discovers there are civilizations beyond their own and that mankind's reach is far greater than they ever knew. At each encounter the group is joined by other tribes who have been attacked by the slave raiders, turning D'Leh's once-small band into an army.

Why so much heat? It's meant to be utter awfulness with a rotten cherry on top.

I actually kinda liked Mamma Mia.

There's nothing to like about 10,000 BC. Even this price - so what if it's a steelbook? It's a luxury edition of a cinematic turd.
#10
seems to me the cgi on this film were actually done on the date suggested
#11
Can I have it?
Super film, don't knock it if you've not watched it.
My post was about Royals copy of Mamma Mia.

Dire film (though the missus liked it :| )
#13
ive had this on bluray since release still not watched it lol only got it cos it was a steelbook.
which the dvd version isnt. its a regular tin. companies need to know the difference as some people would order just to add to a collection.

Great film, really enjoyed it.

Love it when the army comes over the hill. Epic.

The super pyramids and mammoths are awesome too.

Nothing I didn't like about it.

I thought this film was pretty good, not a classic by any means but a solid family film for a sunday afternoon. £3.93 is not a bad price either for the special edition steelbook. If you want to get the standard no frills version on DVD it's £2.99 at play.com

I'd been put off by all the dire comments and not watched this film - then picked the single disc version before Christmas when it was £1.99 - it was surprisingly good; not a masterpiece (but not pretending to be) but a simple fun story with good convincing performances and what I thought were pretty good effects. Worth your £4

I enjoyed 10, 000 BC so much that I want a second disc full of extras.

1 and only time you will see/hear that sentance.

Been wanting to see this film, I think I might order. It's a good price.

It's worth noting that this isn't a steely - it's just a regular tin.

Got mine this morning and it's a regular 2 disc Amaray case not a Tin Edition, it's going straight back :x
#20
yeah what the hell! its a regular DVD!

i'm complaining
#21
I ordered this and received it today... it's not the limited edition tin at all, or at least that's not what I got. They've sent me the standard crappy amaray case version, and by the sounds of it the discs are loose inside. Not happy! :x

Ah, the two posts above didn't seem to be there a minute ago. Kind of glad I'm not alone on this, but very unlucky for all who ordered it. Will also be returning mine along with a complaint.
#22
i received the ordinary version also.
#23
anybody had a response from Asda regarding this?

I emailed them, and they bare-faced lied to me saying that i didn't order this, i just ordered the regular dvd! I checked my online Asda Entertainment invoice.... they manually changed it to 10,000 BC [DVD]

They obviously forgot that they sent a paper order confirmation with my order. This has the collectors edition on the order form.

I have formally complained.

I have, they are going to replace it or refund to my card.

They gave me a return number and told me to post it back to them at a freepost address they gave.
#25
I'm glad you got the resolution you wanted

I don't want a refund, its gone past that. What they have done is wrong, and i'm not going to settle for a refund. I will settle for the item though and for them to state it was not MY fault. I'm not an idiot and tired of getting mugged off by companies.

I got the same response. Was told I'd get a reply within a day, but it actually took them two days. They also only offered me a refund, which in my opinion isn't for them to decide. Like Kichigai said, they listed the item wrong, so it's their fault and they should give you the item you believed you were buying in the first place. I can;t be bothered to carry it on any longer though, so I've settled for the refund. Definitely won't be visiting that site again!

I wish you luck though, Kichigai. Let us know how it goes :)

I don't know if this will help you in any way, but here's the email I received...
