£15 tariff is £10 costly over the year provided you go through Quidco and get £50 cashback.
would prefer that...

My partner is on this, its a good tariff, one watch out is that multimedia are charged rather than taken from the "Unlimited" (on my o2 contract, they are taken from the 1600/month limit as 4 standard messages)
#3
I got this the other day. With a web bolt on too for an extra five-quid.

It's a very tidy deal. I asked the woman in the O2 shop and she said it's always been there, they just don't advertise it.

I rung up C/Services and they offered it straight away!

Yes indeed. I got stung by that one the sneaky buggers. Still cheaper than the £35 a month I was on before though. Plus after complaining that no-one warned me I'd get charged for MMS they refunded me since it was my first month. Don't think they'll refund again now that I do know though.

i still cant seem to work out why anyone would want these deals, when you can get the tesco SIM only deals for 30 day contracts for the roughly the same.
the £15 offer from them includes unlimited internet, and to me seems far superior.
i have been dithering for weeks trying to work out whats best

And use Quidco and get £15 back to when you sign up!! I did!! The £15 option has 500 mins to - rather than the 300 posted here.

£15 Tesco's sim only (shows as 02 on my iphone) = 500 mins, Unlimited texts, Unlimited internet - £15 cashback and only a 30 day contract - No brainer - And I'm Blonde!!!!

is there any direct link for the £10 deal...i cant see it online
#8
oh i got it now

Am on Tesco now - could I get 3G/HSDPA? No...I'm a Smartphone user and if I can't get that it's not very good for me. Gone back to O2. Tesco could not figure out why my HTC Desire wouldn't get 3G and from what I've seen a lot of other people are having the same issue.
#10
I think the only reason this was so popular last time was because it came with a free high-end phone.

Here, you'd be tying yourself into a 12 month deal and not really getting anything for it. I'd go for a 30-day rolling contract instead.
#11
Why is it so confusing that someone would want this deal at £10 then a deal at £15??

Yes the £15 one includes internet usage but some of us couldn't give a toss about using the internet on a mobile phone so I would rather have the £5 for something else thanks!
#12
Also 300 minutes is more then I personally would ever need so for those like me this is much better then the Tesco deal even if you don't technically get as much for your money you are still paying £5 extra for something you are not going to use.
#13
GiffGaff is £7.50 a month for the same thing if you pay for however many months you want before the 31st
#14
I have been on this for 3 months now...excellent value.I find the unlimited landline calls great as I am hard of hearing and use a mobile all the time.

Is there a way to check how many minutes you have left on a contract? I've always used PAYG but top up £10 p/month on ASDA Mobile so it's pretty much cheaper and convenient to use this.

Yes you can check your remaining minutes, can't remember exactly how at the moment but you can either phone an automated line or you can do it via text and it will text you back with the answer.

You can also see whats remaining online if you log it to your O2 account.

You can only pay for two months in advance.

i went for this previously, the datav connection on my HTC android phone was so awful - wherever I went that I had to terminate... took a bit of a battle even with distance selling regs on my side!
#19
is there a direct link for this and is quidco available? thanks

All you've got to do is click on go to deal and the deal stares you in the face. For Quidco type it in your browser and put o2 in the search box, it cant be any simpler.

It all boils down to your needs. Do you need internet? Yes? Go for Tesco Mobile. No? Go for this. It can't be simpler than that surely...

Tesco had the same deal on their network for £6 a month, on a rolling month contract.

100 minutes and unlimited texts is not the same deal as this.

Send blank SMS to shortcode: 21202 [this works on non-iPhone tariff plans only] for remaining allowance balance check service. FOC within UK only but will only show balance prior to last 12 hours. If you have a unlimited bolt on then this will not usually show as it says on the tin = Unlimited, no point telling you your limit.

Surely if they gave you unlimited texts & allowed you to send MMS for every 4x units within that allowance. How much does it cost to send 1x MMS that contain data almost upto 300kb per MMS? MMS uses more data to send hence uses more bandwidth than the normal regular SMS [160 characters per SMS] does. This will cost O2 more in the long run hence you were quite lucky to get your MMS charges back.

As far as I'm aware that only the older tariff plans before Q1 2010 will offer inclusive text allowance that can be used for MMS & also while roaming & take 4x unit per MMS hence they only offered a limited text allowance bundle in the first place. They change this due to a bigger majority of UK customers prefer more text allowance in the UK & also that the foreign mobile networks abroad that have agreements with O2 where been charged for data.

Make sure you don't go over the "unlimited" 500mb data.
We just got £300 bill for going over by about 70mb (£4 / mb) :( and we found their online statement difficult to use (it's in seconds and volumes, rather than minutes, hours and bytes).
Unlike O2, they will not "forgive" you going over.

Just a lil warning. An expensive lesson learnt :/

this did come with a near £200 phone at one point, but it was an instore deal only. Instore you don't get the unlimited O2 or landline calls.

Just send text to 21202 and it usually replies instantly with what you have left of your allowance.

Some people had trouble getting it over the phone - had to tell the sales staff about it (using details from here), but I got the £10 sim and a fab phone delivered free to my door! :D

and the unlimited O2 calls? Awesome deal. I was a bit late getting the deal, and they were only offering cheap Samsungs at that point, definitely only instore when I tried.
#36
can you add data bolt on to this contract & how much extra will it be?
#37
good deal for sim only
#38
Just so that everyone is kept up to date, I signed up for this deal earlier this eveining and the guy on the other end of the phone didn't even flinch when I asked for it. I've had the confirmation emails too.
#39
Don't suppose u know who u talked to. Phone 202 but was told deal expired and it's no longer on the official web site.

Were u repricing an old contract or getting a newnone?

Was it 12 month or the 30 day rolling for 100 mins for £10.
