Terms and Conditions
The discount voucher entitles the user to £10 off on the date of issuance on all full priced product, with a minimum spend of £50. One additional discount voucher can be used per additional spend of £50 (e.g. purchase of £50 = maximum discount £10 - one voucher; purchase of £100 = maximum discount £20 - two vouchers). Maximum 2 vouchers per receipt. Valid from 23.10.11 till 05.11.11. The vouchers cannot be redeemed against any other promotional or discounted merchandise, gift cards, or multiple offer (2 for...). The discount voucher is only valid in the Foot Locker store of issuance and on the same day of return of the old shoes to Foot Locker. The voucher is personal, has no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash. Original vouchers only. Valid only in the following markets: UK, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal and Netherlands.

Jump to unread Post a CommentA marketing study was done several years ago on a similar product, and they discovered instead of just giving a direct cash discount like it was a sale, if they asked people to trade-in an old item making it seem like the old item was of value that was required for the cash discount (when in reality, the old item had negligible value), the consumers would perceive that this store was the only place they could go to get some form of value from their old items.
The truth is, consumers could trade in banana peels for all the store cares -- it's basically a general sale from the store's perspective. The important thing is that the consumers believe that this store is the only place they can go to get value for their old items.
