Pack of 10 shrink wrapped blank Maxell DVDs (+R and -R) are available at Wilkinson in Thamesmead , not sure if this is nationwide?

There are slightly better deals for bulk packs of 50 and 100, but i think these packs of 10s are good for £1.47

Have had these before, they are the worst disks that I have had, had about 100 of them and about 80% of them was coasters, it was not the burner as they was tryed in 3 different ones.

I buy these and they burn faultlessly, probably cheaper though in the long run if you buy 50 or a 100.
100 have cost me around £12.99 delivered from Play.com in the past

My favourite discs. I've been using these for years and I've had, perhaps, one or two coasters. It does depend on your drive as well - different drives can have problems with different discs. For example, my old Verbatim discs burn faultlessly every time on my laptop drive, but 4 out of 5 end up as coasters if I try it on my desktop.

As for the deal, I suppose it's okay if you don't use many discs, but 100 would cost £14.70 at this rate oO

Anyone know any good dual layer deals?

I started out with these many years ago, most are unreadable now. They burnt ok, just didn't last.

I used these and have never had one "coaster" Then again, I don't burn them at full speed (Or any disc for that matter)

I think it may be your burner
Over the past 6 or 7 years I've probably burned around 400+ CD & DVDs and can only remember having only a few that turned into coasters. I've used Maxell, TDK, Tuffdisc (that people slam all the time)......I never encounter a problem unless it's a foreseeable one, i.e. exceeding the 'over-burn' limit. I thought 'coasters' were a thing of the past
Both my computer and its burn drive (I think it's Sony) are nothing spectacular

It is a real shame that we can get a decent compatibility, my car has problems reading Verbatim CDs but Tesco or woolworths CD-Rs work fine, how messed up is that?

Always found these dvd's OK. Like all others, the odd one is dodgy.
Wether they are at any of my local Wilkies is another matter entirely.

I used hundreds of the discs when they were made in Japan. Never had any coasters at all, and never had a client who couldn't play a dvd. Then 4 or 5 years ago they switched manufacture of the spindle packs to Taiwan if I remember correctly using different dyes. (You could still get Japanese ones in Jewel cases for a while). Tests showed that the new ones were not as reliable, so I switched to verbatim. Just because discs are the same brand doesn't mean they're the same discs, so it's hard to recommend any particular discs.
