Or you could just buy your Ipod from another retailer for far less than Apple want to sell it for, and send your old mobile to Mazuma (or whoever) - better off all round!

true, unless you want an iphone, pretty much the same price everywhere!

the cheapest i could find it (32gb) elsewhere was £209...then £220 ish so its doesnt matter either way plus with the engraving its a good deal especially as you an take in a phone of "any condition" thus negating taking them a phone of any value i.e. I will be recycling my ancient 3210 worth about 10p on mazuma ...but your logic is sound:thumbsup:

Sorry to go off topic, but Appe havejust P***** me off, I have an Dension ice link fm in my car with cradle to play my ipod through the factory fit stereo.
Well I have just brought an ipod touch and found out it is not compatible with the link, because Apple have changed the volt charge from 12v to 5v:x
which means the £120 it cost me just over a year ago to have this installed is a waste of money, as Dension have now had to release a new one because of this issue.

The offer reads to me that they will recycle your phone for free, but you only get 10% off a new iPod when you take in an old iPod for recycling.

From FAQ

Yes. You can also bring in your existing iPod, iPod mini, iPod nano or iPod shuffle at any time. A free iPod recycling programme, conducted through Apple’s retail stores, offers environmentally friendly disposal and a 10 percent discount on the purchase of a new iPod. (excluding iPod shuffle).

Aw man just bought my daughter an ipod nano 16gb last week - gutted! With her xmas money though but still could've saved £13.50 with this code. Her old one was knacked plus she wanted the red one which is only available through Apple stores so couldn't have got it anywhere to save money anyway. Still this is HOT!!

What it says is :

"You can bring your existing iPod or mobile phone to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Premium Resellers store for free recycling at any time."

So, they will recycle your iPod or phone for free. Then it says :

"A free iPod recycling programme, conducted through Apples retail stores, offers environmentally friendly disposal and a 10 percent discount on the purchase of a new iPod1."

In other words, the 10 percent discount is only when you recycle an iPod. Would be nice if I were wrong and you can get the 10% discount by recycling some worthless old mobile, but I doubt it.

Please add recycling to the title - it currently implies 10% off without the need to provide them one of their overpriced products first.

PS - Don't forget you can use old iPods as hard drives, or you can Rockbox many of them for a more exciting MP3 player.
